Jalandhar, January 30 (IANS). Punjab Police has intensified preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Jalandhar. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav posted on social media platform ‘X’ on Friday and informed about the review of security arrangements.

Prime Minister Modi will reach Dera Sachkhand Ballan in Jalandhar on Sunday, where he will take blessings and pay obeisance from Sant Niranjan Das Ji on the occasion of 649th Guru Ravidas Jayanti. This visit is different from the Prime Minister’s traditional visit to Seer Govardhan (the birthplace of Guru Ravidas) in Varanasi, and is the first time he is attending the auspicious occasion in Punjab.
Earlier in another post he gave information about gangsters and organized crime. “Today, the SHO, Gazetted Officers, SSP, Batla Police, ADGP AGTF, ADGP CI and DIG; chaired a comprehensive review meeting with special emphasis on further strengthening law and order along the Border Range and ensuring decisive action against gangsters and organized crime,” he wrote.
“Discussions were held in detail to gather important field-level inputs, especially on dismantling the cross-border terrorism-crime nexus, implementing zero tolerance towards extortion and criminal gangs, and enhancing operational preparedness. Punjab Police is committed to maintaining peace, security and harmony across the state, and remains steadfast in its mission to serve and protect the people of Punjab,” he wrote.
