Chandigarh, January 18 (IANS). BJP is opposing the ban imposed by the government on media in Punjab. In this sequence, Punjab BJP Vice President Fatehjang Singh Bajwa met the Governor of Punjab. He said that what the Punjab government is doing out of its own will is not right.
Punjab BJP Vice President Fatehjang Singh Bajwa, while talking to news agency IANS, said, ‘The Governor is concerned about Punjab. We have also given them information about the entire matter. Journalists are being prevented from showing the truth in Punjab. The way Punjab government is working is not right. The public is going to give them the answer when the time comes.
He said that the way the state government is pressurizing the media organization is not right. If they do not like a story then they try to put pressure on that journalist or organization. Those people don’t know that nothing is going to happen with this. The public has come to know your truth. Today the media should come together and together bring the truth of the government in front of everyone.
Fatehjang Singh Bajwa said that some media organizations are trying to hide the truth by taking government advertisements, but they should not do so and should support each other, so that there is no pressure from anyone on the media and it can do its work independently.
Fatehjang Singh Bajwa said, “Today everyone is united and saying the same thing. Bangladesh is slowly becoming another Pakistan, where minorities, especially Hindus, are being targeted. People are condemning it all over the country and our government is also raising this issue and is talking to the Bangladesh government on this issue.”
Earlier, Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar wrote a letter to Governor Gulab Chand Kataria expressing deep concern over media freedom and deteriorating law and order in the state.
BJP President Sunil Jakhar wrote in the letter that the law and order situation in Punjab has become very worrying. Common people are scared about their safety, but instead of paying attention to this, the Aam Aadmi Party government is busy suppressing the voice of the media. The state government deliberately wants to stop the independent reporting of the media, so that the truth about the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab does not reach the public.
