Rahul Gandhi called Prime Minister Modi a coward, said - 'Indira Gandhi, being a woman, was more courageous'

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and compared him with former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, citing the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971.

Addressing a public meeting in Nalanda, Bihar, Rahul said that Indira Gandhi was neither afraid nor bowed down to the US during the 1971 war, while Prime Minister Modi neither has the “vision” nor the “ability” to stand up to US President Donald Trump.

Gandhi said, “During the 1971 Bangladesh war, America had sent its aircraft and navy to scare and intimidate India. The then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had said that we are not afraid of your navy, you can do whatever you want, we will do whatever we have to do.”

Rahul Gandhi said, “Indira Gandhi was a woman, but she had more courage than this man. Narendra Modi is a coward. He has neither the vision nor the ability to stand up to the President of America. I challenge him: If Narendra Modi has courage, then in any gathering of Bihar he should say that the President of America is lying and he (PM Modi) did not bow before him and he did not stop Operation Sindoor. He cannot do this.”

The statement comes after US President Donald Trump again claimed on Tuesday that he had intervened to prevent a possible war between India and Pakistan after India’s Operation Sindoor.

Speaking at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO luncheon in Gyeongju, South Korea, Trump claimed his mediation had prevented hostilities between the two nuclear-armed nations earlier this year.

Continuing his attacks, the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha claimed that US President Trump has “insulted” Prime Minister Modi 50 times.

He said, “The President of America has insulted Narendra Modi 50 times.

Trump said, “I told Modi on phone to stop ‘Operation Vermillion’. Narendra Modi stopped ‘Operation Vermillion’ within two days. But Narendra Modi does not have the courage to say, “The President of America is lying.” Narendra Modi had to meet Trump, but he is not going to meet him out of fear; he is sitting in hiding. Narendra Modi does not have the courage,” said Rahul Gandhi.

This is not the first time Trump has made such claims. He has repeatedly said that he has established peace between India and Pakistan, but Indian officials have previously rejected his claim.
