Rajasthan government withdrew the security of MP Hanuman Beniwal

राजस्थान सरकार ने सांसद हनुमान बेनीवाल की सुरक्षा वापस ली

Jaipur, May 29 (IANS). The tension between BJP-RLP seems to be worsening as the state government on Friday reduced the security of Nagaur MP and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) chief Hanuman Beniwal.

After the removal of three private security officers (PSOs) attached to the Jaipur Police Commissioner’s office, Beniwal hit out at the state government, saying he never asked for security and thousands of youth across Rajasthan were enough to protect him.

Speaking on the issue, Beniwal said that during the controversy related to the sub-inspector recruitment exam, the then intelligence officer Sanjay Aggarwal had arranged for his security. According to Beniwal, commandos armed with AK-47 rifles were deployed from Jaipur, while additional security personnel were deployed from Nagaur. He said that a total of eight security personnel were deployed for his security, out of which four were from Jaipur and four from Nagaur.

Beniwal said that two security personnel were deployed at his residence, two were on rest duty and four security personnel were with him at all times. He said he was told that he had challenged several powerful groups, including the sand mafia and paperwork scam gangs. He further said that now that the government has removed the security, I want to make it clear that I had never even asked for security.

He also said that the Bhajan Lal government need not worry about their safety, as thousands of youth across the state stand with them and are capable of protecting them.

Beniwal raised questions on this decision of the government and asked why security was given initially and on what basis it has been removed now. The Nagaur MP also accused the government of the recent protests and law and order problems.

Referring to a movement in support of sadhus (religious ascetics), he claimed that the government wanted him to enter Jaipur so that he could be detained along with the protesters. He further alleged that some elements tried to spoil the atmosphere during the Eid celebrations and tried to drag him into controversy. However, Beniwal claimed that he exercised restraint and did not let the situation deteriorate. He said that the government wanted to create conflict and tension in Jaipur, but we had already resolved the matter and ensured that communal harmony remained unaffected.
