RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat reaches Assam on four-day visit

Guwahati, May 14 (IANS). Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat reached Hojai district of Assam on Wednesday amid tight security arrangements.

His convoy reached Geeta Ashram in Hojai, where the RSS chief will stay for the next four days.

In view of Bhagwat’s visit, the police administration has made strict security arrangements in the ashram and surrounding areas. Multiple levels of security arrangements have been implemented and police forces have been deployed at sensitive locations.

There was a lot of excitement in the area upon the arrival of the RSS chief and senior RSS leaders and local workers were present to welcome him.

According to the information, Bhagwat will participate in the ‘Worker Development Class (Second Year)’ training camp organized in the state. This camp is part of the cadre development and leadership training program of the organization.

This training program will be organized at a designated venue in Guwahati, involving volunteers from different parts of the North Eastern region.

Senior RSS leaders and pracharaks will also participate in the sessions in this three-day program.

During his stay he will also meet senior union officials from Assam and other north-eastern states.

‘Kartika Vikas Varg’ is considered an important internal training program of the RSS, which aims to enhance the leadership skills, ideological training and organizational capacity of the members.

Its second year camp is for those volunteers who have completed the first phase of training.

Security arrangements have been tightened in Guwahati in view of Bhagwat’s visit and the administration is coordinating with the organizers for the smooth conduct of the event.

The tour will conclude after the training program ends on May 15.
