Haridwar, July 8 (INS). The Uttarakhand government has adopted a strict stance in the matter of alleged irregularities related to donations and offerings at Shri Badrinath Dham. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami clearly said in Haridwar on Wednesday that no person found guilty in the case will be spared.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who attended the closing ceremony of Murari Bapu’s Shri Ram Katha in Haridwar, said while talking to the media that a committee has been formed to investigate the matter. The government has already initiated necessary action and further strict measures will be taken based on the investigation.

He said that whoever is found guilty in this case, action will be taken against him as per law. Irregularities in donations are a very serious matter. This is a betrayal of trust.

Calling it a crime as serious as cow slaughter and murder of one’s parents, CM Dhami said that such an act is not forgivable under any circumstances.

The Chief Minister said that the case is being investigated by the Special Investigation Team (SIT). The SIT is investigating all the facts thoroughly and further action will be taken based on its report. The government is fully committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in the management of temples.

On the other hand, a three-member high level committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Garhwal Commissioner Anand Swaroop for an impartial investigation of the matter. At the same time, Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has also taken action at the administrative level and suspended Personal Assistant Pramod Nautiyal posted in the President’s office with immediate effect. Besides, an FIR has also been lodged against him.

According to the order issued by Tourism Secretary Dhiraj Singh Garbyal, the committee will conduct a detailed investigation into the alleged irregularities related to donations and offerings received in the temple and submit its investigation report and recommendations to the government within 15 days.

During this, Chief Minister Dhami also gave information about the preparations for monsoon in the state. He said that monsoon has become active in the state and high alert will continue in many districts for the next ten days. Necessary guidelines have been given to all concerned departments and officers and all arrangements related to disaster management are being made, so that any emergency situation can be dealt with effectively.
