Stir in Bihar politics: Nitish Kumar said - I will not go anywhere, I will keep an eye on every move of the government.

Although Nitish Kumar has resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Bihar and Samrat Chaudhary has been made his political successor, still Nitish Kumar has no intention of leaving Bihar. Even after becoming a Rajya Sabha MP, Nitish Kumar has said that he will keep a close eye on the Samrat Chaudhary-led government in Bihar.
A meeting of JD(U) legislature party was held at Nitish Kumar’s official residence in Patna. The party unanimously gave Nitish Kumar the right to elect the new leader of the legislature party. However, the name of any specific JD(U) leader has not been decided yet.

After the JD(U) meeting, Nitish Kumar assured that he will tour the entire state of Bihar and establish direct communication with party workers and the general public. After the meeting was over, Nitish Kumar said that everything is normal within the party and there is nothing to worry about. Thus, even though Nitish Kumar has given up the reins of power, he has no intention of loosening his grip.

Nitish will keep an eye on the work of Samrat Chaudhary
For the first time in Bihar, a BJP leader has become the Chief Minister, with Samrat Chaudhary replacing Nitish Kumar. Nitish Kumar said that although he will keep commuting to Delhi, he will spend most of his time in Patna. By doing this, Nitish Kumar has indicated to maintain his political relevance in Bihar politics.

It has become clear from the JD(U) meeting that even though the reins of power are now in the hands of Samrat Chaudhary, the political stature of Nitish Kumar still remains ‘supreme’. Now, freed from the administrative machinery of the government, he will focus on strengthening the party organisation, and will also keep a close eye on the functioning of Samrat Chaudhary. In fact, he had already announced that even though he is going to Rajya Sabha, he is not leaving the politics of Bihar under any circumstances.

Nitish Kumar will be active in Bihar
After stepping down from the post of Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar is now working on a new strategy. Nitish Kumar is once again ready to undertake an intensive tour of entire Bihar. Although these tours will not be undertaken as Chief Minister, he will still connect with the public as JD(U) national president. The main objective of this tour is to energize the party workers and further strengthen the grassroots base of the party. Nitish Kumar will visit different districts of Bihar so that he can get the opinion of the local people and can prepare a new organizational structure. Although Nitish Kumar has visited Bihar many times before, but this is his first political tour which is not official. In the coming days, he will visit different parts of the state to strengthen the party organization and take stock of the ground situation.

What is going on in Nitish Kumar’s mind?
The decision of this tour was taken after Nitish Kumar resigned from the post of Chief Minister, the purpose of which was to maintain unity in the party and prepare future strategy. To maintain JD(U)’s ground hold, he will continue to visit different areas of Bihar. Nitish Kumar said that he intends to tour the entire state and talk directly to party workers and the general public. This raises the question: What is going on in Nitish Kumar’s mind?

However, Nitish Kumar has clarified that everything is normal within the party and there is nothing to worry about. He reiterated that in the times to come, he would visit different parts of the state to strengthen the organization and take stock of the ground situation. Nitish Kumar’s motive for being politically active in Bihar—even when the BJP is in power—is clear: He does not want the JD(U)’s political base to weaken in any way. Apart from this, he also aims to make the political path easier for his son, Nishant Kumar.

Is the political path being made easy for Nishant?
Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, has already entered the political arena; Although he has not yet held the post of Deputy Chief Minister, he is still active. Nishant is visiting different districts of Bihar to meet party leaders and workers. He is also holding regular meetings at the party office in Patna. As a result, it seems that this father-son duo is all set to create a new stir in Bihar politics. While being active in Bihar politics, Nitish Kumar will also play an important role in preparing the political ground for his son Nishant. For this reason, he intends to spend more time in Patna and Bihar rather than Delhi. It is generally believed that he will keep Nishant under his direct supervision, so that he can teach him the nuances and strategies of political maneuvering. Precisely for this reason, he has made a very calculated and strategic move in the election of the Deputy Chief Minister.
