Tamil Nadu: Chief Minister Vijay to inaugurate modern MLA office and launch complaint app in Perambur

Chennai, July 13 (IANS). Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will inaugurate the newly created constituency office in Perambur on Monday. Along with this, we will launch a technology-based public complaint system (app) to provide civil services to the citizens faster.

Vijay had contested and won the assembly elections from both Perambur and Tiruchi East, but later retained the Perambur seat and resigned from Tiruchi East. He has been taking initiatives for the welfare of the residents of Perambur constituency. This new office has been created to increase public outreach and resolve constituency complaints in a better manner.

The MLA office located on First Street in Sharma Nagar, Vyasarpadi has been developed by converting an old building into a modern public service centre. At this place, compound wall, CCTV surveillance, special computer system and a special room have been made for the Chief Minister during his visit to the constituency.

A signboard with the name “Perambur MLA C. Joseph Vijay” has also been installed outside the office. The office will have 10 employees who will receive people’s applications daily, scrutinize them and coordinate with government departments for timely action. This will be Vijay’s first visit to the constituency after the assembly elections, so it is expected that the officials and workers of ‘Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam’ (TVK) will give him a warm welcome. After inaugurating the office, the Chief Minister will inspect a nearby ration shop and distribute new ration cards and land ownership pattas to the eligible beneficiaries.

A special mobile app named “Jan Seva Vedhi” has been created for the residents of Perambur to send their complaints directly to their MLA. Through this app, citizens will be able to lodge complaints related to electricity, drinking water, roads, cleanliness, education, healthcare, housing assistance, government welfare schemes, employment, business help, legal documents and emergency services.

As soon as the complaint is filed, she will immediately reach the MLA’s office. The system will automatically send a confirmation message to the mobile phone of the complainant and users will be able to check the status of their complaints online till they are resolved. Officials have been directed to initiate initial action on every complaint within three days.

Urgent civic issues like drinking water, electricity supply, road repairs and cleanliness are expected to be resolved within 10 days and their detailed information will be given through the app. A modern control room has also been created in the constituency office to monitor the process of resolution of complaints. The objective of this digital platform is to act as a bridge between citizens and government departments, making public services more transparent, accountable and easily accessible.
