Telangana: Grand preparations for State Foundation Day celebrations, Special Chief Secretary holds meeting

Hyderabad, May 19 (IANS). The Telangana government is making extensive preparations for the State Foundation Day celebrations on June 2. The main official program of the State Foundation Day will be organized on a large scale at the Parade Ground, Secunderabad.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will first go to Gana Park and pay homage to the martyrs at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial, after which he will attend the ceremony at the Parade Ground.

Special Chief Secretary of the state government, Vikas Raj, on Tuesday directed senior officials to make proper arrangements for the preparations for these grand celebrations.

According to an official press release, he held a review meeting of the preparedness with officials concerned at the Dr BR Ambedkar State Secretariat.

During this, he gave special instructions to the officials regarding the arrangements to be made at both the Parade Ground and Gana Park.

He suggested that a nodal officer be appointed from each department, who would monitor the preparations for the function and ensure better coordination between the departments.

He directed the police department to make proper security arrangements on the routes for VIPs and other dignitaries.

He also specifically said that proper parking arrangements should be made for the vehicles coming to the parade ground, traffic route map should be prepared and full care should be taken to ensure that there is no obstruction of any kind in the traffic.

He instructed the Roads and Buildings Department to install waterproof sheds and barricades.

He asked the concerned authorities to ensure cleanliness at the venue and surrounding areas and make adequate arrangements for drinking water.

The Special Chief Secretary directed the Culture Department to organize cultural programs of various artists so that the atmosphere of the program becomes festive.

He directed the electricity department officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply and arrange for backup generators as well as decorate the Assembly, State Secretariat, Charminar, Praja Bhawan and other government buildings with attractive lights.

He asked the Special Commissioner of the Information Department to make arrangements for live telecast for wide publicity of the State Foundation Day celebrations.

He advised all the departments to work with mutual coordination so that the program can be organized successfully.

Apart from this, he also ordered to conduct joint exercises by all the departments at the Parade Ground from May 25.
