The city of the future will be developed on the level of Singapore and Tokyo: Telangana Chief Minister

Hyderabad, April 28 (IANS). Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said on Tuesday that ‘Bharat Future City’ will be developed at the level of Singapore, Tokyo and New York.

He assured that the state government will protect the interests of farmers by giving them good compensation instead of acquiring their lands for the new city.

The Chief Minister was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of ‘Future City Police Commissionerate’ in ‘Future City’.

Some people came to him with the request that their villages should also be included in the limits of ‘Future City’. He directed the officers to organize ‘Gram Sabhas’ and include those villages under the jurisdiction of the Commissionerate as per the wishes of the residents there.

Stating that the office of the ‘Future City Development Corporation’ would be inaugurated by June 2, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the government would provide all possible help to the farmers whose lands have been lost to the project.

“Our government will ensure that no one faces any trouble. State Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu will always be available to address the grievances of the local people,” he said. He also asked the officials to consider the problems of the poor and the deprived with full sympathy.

Appealing to everyone to cooperate in this big initiative of transforming ‘Future City’ into a magnificent city, he reminded that even when the ‘Outer Ring Road’ (ORR) was being constructed, many people had raised questions and opposed it. He said that today the same ORR is known as an unmatched structure in the entire country.

The Chief Minister launched a scathing attack on ‘Bharat Rashtra Samiti’ (BRS) alleging that it was trying to hamper the ‘Future City’ project by spreading lies.

He once again reiterated that ‘Future City’ will be promoted as an excellent destination for investors from all over the world. The Chief Minister also emphasized that out of the seven ‘Bullet Train’ projects sanctioned across the country, three projects have been given specifically to the state of Telangana. Apart from this, proposals for ‘Bullet Train’ network connecting Bengaluru with Hyderabad, Shamshabad with Pune, and Shamshabad with Amravati and Chennai have also been approved. He said that with such big projects, Rangareddy district will emerge as a major center of development.

The Chief Minister also appealed to the Maoists to lay down their arms and join the mainstream of society. He said that the government is fully prepared to rehabilitate them and address their health related problems.
