New Delhi, 19 September (IANS). Born in an ordinary Brahmin family in Anwalkheda village of Agra district of Uttar Pradesh, Pandit Shri Ram Sharma Acharya dedicated his entire life to the upliftment of human consciousness and the creation of a new creation. He was born on 20 September 1911 as the son of father Pandit Roopkishore Sharma and mother Danakunwari Devi.
Discussing from childhood to spirituality, this child took initiation of Gayatri Mantra at the age of just nine. Despite the disdain of the society, serving a leprosy patient an elderly woman was a symbol of the generosity of his heart. At the age of 15, Vasant Panchami (18 January 1926) appeared to appear in his prayer room on Vasant Panchami (18 January 1926). The Guru gave him a memory of his previous births and told the objectives of life.
After this, Acharya completed 24 Mahapar Sanskrit in three decades, each in harsh penance with chanting 24 lakh Gayatri Mantra. This journey is described in his autobiography ‘Our will and heritage’.
Playing an active role in the freedom struggle, from 1923-24, Gandhiji’s inspiration was associated with and made prison trips.
Acharya’s spiritual journey was enriched by four Himalayan trips (1937, 1959, 1971, 1984), where he planned to build Sadhana and Yuga. From 1933, he started a nationwide tour and met with great men like Rabindranath Tagore, Arvind.
In 1938, through the magazine ‘Akhand Jyoti’ began ‘Vichar Kranti Abhiyan’, which was based on Sadhana, Swadhyaya, Sambhayay and Seva. In 1943, Bhagwati Devi Sharma was married, who became her life partner and colleague. In 1946, both of them sold their property and dedicated them to social welfare.
In 1953, Gayatri Tapobhoomi was established in Mathura, where 2400 pilgrimage water, 2400 crore Gayatri Mantra handwritten copies and an unbroken fire brought from the Himalayas.
The foundation of Yuga Nirman Yojana was laid from Sahasra Kundiya Gayatri Mahayagya of 1958. In 1963, the era building satsankalp with the slogan ‘We will change, the era change’ started, with 100 sutras emphasized social, intellectual and spiritual change.
In 1972, Shantikunj of Haridwar was made the center of the Rishi tradition, which is today the headquarters of the Gayatri family.
In 1979, he established Brahmavarchas Research Institute and worked on the synthesis of science and spirituality. His followers established the Dev Sanskriti University in 2002, focused on evaluated education.
His contribution to literature creation is incomparable. The collection of more than 3000 books is compiled in 108 sections of ‘Vangmay’, which simplifies the Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, Darshan etc. translated into Hindi.
Major works are ‘Gayatri Maha Vigyan’ and 18 Khandi ‘Pragya Purana’. He broke the caste bonds, gave Gayatri initiation to Harijans and women and formed Brahmwadi groups. Lakhs of women were linked to Gayatri chanting by certifying the Vedic text rights of women from the scriptures.
Acharya’s Mahasamadhi took place on Gayatri Jayanti on 2 June 1990 at the age of 78. In 1998, he was honored as a freedom fighter fighter and in 1991 a postage stamp was issued in his honor.
The legacy of this era of ‘Vedamurthy’ is alive today through the World Gayatri family, with 15 crore members and 5000 centers.
