What freedom was found so that the country becomes a slave of BJP instead of British: Kejriwal on the situation in Ladakh

Expressing serious concern over the situation in Ladakh, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday questioned whether the country had got freedom from the British to become a slave to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

In one of his posts on X, Kejriwal strictly alleged that the BJP is intoxicated by power and is turning one state into a union territory and snatching the rights provided by the Constitution.

He wrote, “What is happening in Ladakh today is very worrying. Every true patriot should stand with the people of Ladakh. Did we take freedom from the British only because the people would become a slave of the BJP instead of the British?”

The post reads, “Revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh and Chandrashekhar Azad sacrificed their lives for democracy so that every Indian would get the right to choose their government. But today the drunk BJP is turning the states one after the other in the Union Territory and the constitution is snatching the rights provided.”

Kejriwal further alleged in his post that the BJP is suppressing the voice of the people of Ladakh and despite repeated promises, people are not giving the right to vote.

Highlighting the presence of dictatorship in the country, Kejriwal through his post urged people to speak against the government in the fight for democracy.

The post further wrote, “What are the people of Ladakh asking for the right to vote, they are demanding the right to choose their government. But the BJP is suppressing their voice. Despite repeated promises, it is not giving them the right to vote. Democracy is the voice of the people … and when the government starts suppressing the same voice, it becomes the duty of the people.”

He wrote, “If we have to save the democracy of the country, then we cannot remain silent against this dictatorship. Today’s battle in Ladakh can become the battle of the whole country tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Ladakh Ladakh Ladakh Governor Kavinder Gupta chaired a high-level security review meeting on Thursday, assessing the situation after the status of the state and the sixth schedule status was violent and the situation was assessed after the clashes with the police.

He emphasized hard vigilance, strong inter-agency coordination and the need to take active steps to ensure peace, security and public system in the Union Territory.
