Supreme court on ahmedabad ai crash: 12 June 2025 … The most terrible day of the year… which can never be forgotten. Air India’s Flin AI-171 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner flew from Ahmedabad to London, after a few minutes, the aircraft lost height and had entered and crashed into the hostel building of BJ Medical College nearby. Since then, Air India’s Flyn-171 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner has been continuously questioned. Now a big statement of the Supreme Court has come out on Monday in this case.
The Supreme Court has given a big statement on the Air India Plain Crash case, saying that the preliminary report of the Air India accident has described the mention of pilot’s ‘fuel cut-off’ as ‘very unfortunate’ by the Supreme Court. A report claimed to have ‘shut down the fuel of the engine by the pilot’, which the Supreme Court commented and also demanded an independent inquiry into the case.
SC demands independent inquiry
In the ‘AI 171 Crash’ case, the Supreme Court has described the theory of ‘Pilot’s mistake’ as ‘extremely unfortunate’ and sought a response from the Central Government and DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) on a petition seeking an independent investigation into the accident. Justice Suryakant and Justice N. The bench of Kotiswar Singh said that the demand for a fair investigation is perfect, but making all the information public before the investigation is completed may face the problem. If it was directly stated that ‘the pilot was guilty’, the pilot’s family would be damaged by a serious way.
Supreme Court issued notice
Along with this, the Supreme Court has also sought answers from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau. The bureau released its initial report in the month of July, in which it was revealed that more than 250 people died in the accident. According to the report, the conversation of Captain Sumit Sabharwal and First Officer Clive Kunder in cockpit audio recording was heard. In this, a pilot asked, ‘Why did you cut off?’ So the other replied, ‘I did not’. According to this conversation, the possibility was expressed that the accident happened due to the mistake of the pilot.
After all, how did this matter reach the Supreme Court?
The NGO Safety Matters Foundation, related to Aviation Safety, filed a PIL (PIL) in the Supreme Court. They allege that the initial report of the AI plane crash accident is trying to hide many big information and this leads to people’s life, equality and right to get the right information. Apart from this, it has also been said that the mistakes of the system inside the report have also been directly ignored. The NGO said that an attempt has also been made to blame the pilot in the hurry.
‘Those who are raising questions are investigating’
On behalf of the petitioner, advocate Prashant Bhushan said in the court that the plane crash accident has been more than 100 days, but so far only the primary report has come out. It has not been revealed that what actually happened and what alert should be taken next. The lawyer also said that out of the 5 -member team formed to investigate the accident, 3 people are the executive of DGCA (Aviation Regulator). That is, the organization which is being questioned, is also investigating the same, that is, it is clearly a conflict of interest.
Never forgotten accident
Please tell, there were about 242 passengers in this aircraft accident. These also included 12 crew members, unfortunately all the passengers lost their lives in this accident. Only one passenger was safe, who was a resident of Britain. It is claimed that the safe escape man was sitting near the Emergency window. Apart from this, 19 people present on the ground, including some students of the hostel on which the aircraft fell, died in this accident.
