Raipur, May 18 (IANS). For the first time, a high level meeting of the Central Regional Council is going to be organized in Bastar division of Chhattisgarh. The 26th meeting of the Central Regional Council will be held in Jagdalpur on May 19 under the chairmanship of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, in which the Chief Ministers of various states will attend.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has described this meeting as important and historic for the history of Bastar. He said that this event reflects the new identity of peace, security and development in Bastar. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who reached Chhattisgarh to attend the meeting, were welcomed by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. During this, Chief Minister Sai also discussed various contemporary issues with both the Chief Ministers.

Chief Minister Sai said that Bastar, which once faced the challenges of Naxalite violence, is now moving rapidly in the direction of development and trust. At such a time, the presence of senior leadership of the country and Chief Ministers of various states is a symbol of the changing nature of Bastar. He expressed confidence that this meeting will play an important role in strengthening inter-state coordination as well as in building a safe, developed and self-reliant Bastar.

Earlier, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai had held a meeting with senior administrative officials and while handing over different responsibilities, he said that there should be no lack of any kind in the preparations for the event. He directed to ensure all arrangements with better coordination and seriousness.

The Chief Minister said that the role of the Central Regional Council states is very important in building a developed India. He said that this is the only regional council in the country where there is no dispute of any kind between the member states and it is an excellent example of mutual cooperation and coordination. He said that regional councils have become an effective platform to strengthen communication, cooperation and coordination between the states and the central government. Only strong states create a strong nation and with this thinking the regional councils are giving a new direction to development, administrative coordination and national unity.
