Ranchi, May 17 (IANS). Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda has accused the Chaibasa district administration of not maintaining etiquette and necessary formalities. He criticized the district administration over this incident, saying that this situation shows lack of administrative etiquette and experience. After Arjun Munda’s allegations, Leader of Opposition in Jharkhand Assembly Babulal Marandi has attacked state Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
Arjun Munda wrote a scathing post on Facebook late Saturday night. He said, “At present, I am neither an MLA, nor an MP, nor a Minister, but I have held the constitutional post of Chief Minister of the State of Jharkhand and Minister in the Government of India. As per the pre-determined programme, I stayed for the night at Chaibasa Parishad. It is a matter of utmost regret and concern that even the common courtesy and necessary formalities were not maintained by the Chaibasa district administration.”
He said in the post, “This situation either reflects the lack of administrative etiquette and experience, or administrative arrogance, or the indifference of the state government towards democratic values and general social decorum.” The former Chief Minister said that earlier also there has been a healthy and strong tradition of the administrative system that dialogue was established with the persons associated with public life visiting the district on the general conditions of the district, development works and issues related to public concerns. This was not just a formality, but it also reflected the positive work culture of the administration, communication skills and the dignity of the district.
He said, “It is known that West Singhbhum is a historical and tribal dominated district, which has its own unique cultural, social and historical identity. This type of behavior and working style of the administration in such an important district is definitely a matter of serious concern. In a democratic system, the administration is expected to rise above political differences and ensure proper observance of constitutional norms, administrative etiquette and social courtesy.”
After these allegations by Arjun Munda, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi supported him and attacked the state government. He wrote in the ‘
He wrote, “Jharkhand’s identity is formed not just by its governments, but by its culture, tribal traditions, social harmony and democratic behavior. If the administration becomes insensitive towards the sentiments of public representatives, senior public personalities and the society, then it becomes an insult not just to an individual but to the entire democratic values.”
He demanded from Hemant Soren, saying, “Give this advice to the officers that the ego of the chair is momentary, but the impression of behavior and respect remains in the hearts of the people for years. The power keeps changing, but the public sees everything and time also keeps account of everything.”
