Badrinath Temple Chori News: After Ayodhya Ram Temple, now serious questions have been raised regarding the offerings in Badrinath Dham, the country’s most prestigious and center of faith of crores of devotees. Allegations of alleged irregularities and theft in donations and offerings at the world famous Badrinath Dham have created a stir in religious and administrative circles.
Bhairav Sena, a religious organization, has made serious allegations of misappropriation of offerings directly against the employee, who is said to be the personal secretary of the President of Badri-Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC). As soon as the allegations came to light, the BKTC management swung into action and started investigating the entire matter. According to sources, after receiving the complaint, BKTC started an internal investigation into the matter at the first level. After this, BKTC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sohan Singh Rangad issued a notice to all the employees on duty including the concerned employee and sought reply within three days. However, till now the allegations against any employee have not been proved and the investigation is ongoing.
Speaker said- If allegations are proved then no one will be spared
Describing the matter as very serious, BKTC President Hemant Dwivedi clarified that instructions have been given to form a committee for an impartial investigation. He said that if any employee is found guilty, strict action will be taken against him as per the rules.
He also clarified that the person who is said to be his personal secretary is actually a regular government employee of BKTC and has previously worked as personal assistant to several temple committee presidents. Therefore, it would not be appropriate to reach any conclusion on the basis of designation alone.
CCTV footage became the biggest link in the investigation
According to sources, CCTV footage remains an important basis in the investigation of the entire controversy. However, the biggest challenge before the investigating agencies is that even after zooming the footage, the picture is not clearly visible. For this reason, the identity of the person concerned and the alleged activities have not been confirmed yet. The investigating officers are trying to improve the quality of the footage at the technical level.
Case opened due to inside information!
Sources claim that an employee from within the temple committee informed Bhairav Sena about alleged irregularities in counting donations. It is being told that when some suspicious activities were seen in CCTV, the organization immediately sent a memorandum to the CEO of BKTC demanding action. After this the matter became public and investigation started.
BKTC is not able to get rid of controversies
Badri-Kedar Temple Committee has been in the headlines for many controversies in the past also. In recent years, questions have been continuously raised on the functioning and transparency of the committee. Major controversies include the issue of discolouration of the gold plates installed on the walls of the sanctum sanctorum, controversy over installation of QR code for donations in the temple premises, alleged misuse of the budget, appointment of his wife by an official, and questions raised regarding VIP darshan system.
These continuously emerging cases have intensified the debate on the functioning and credibility of BKTC. Now the biggest challenge for this institution associated with the faith of crores of devotees is to maintain transparency and maintain the trust of the people.
CEO’s appeal, maintain patience till the investigation is completed
BKTC Chief Executive Officer Sohan Singh Rangad said that this matter is related to the faith of crores of devotees. Therefore, it is not appropriate to reach any conclusion without completing the investigation. He appealed to people and organizations to avoid making unconfirmed or misleading allegations and to respect religious sentiments and maintain restraint until the investigation is completed.
At present the investigation of the entire matter is going on. Only after the investigation report comes, it will be clear how much truth is there in the allegations of irregularities in the offerings. If the allegations are proved true, it will not only be a case of administrative negligence, but will also raise serious questions over the governance and transparency of one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the country.
