Balodabazar Serial Killer: The police has made a big disclosure in the case of 8 suspicious deaths that took place in the last three months in Kharve village of Balodabazar district of Chhattisgarh. Investigation has revealed that 46-year-old Ramsahay Jaiswal of the same village targeted people due to various reasons and personal rivalries. The accused used to make people drink poison mixed with liquor, due to which 8 people died, while the life of one person was saved.

This matter came into discussion when deaths started happening one after the other in the village. The common thing among the dead was that all of them had consumed alcohol before death. Due to the continuous deaths, panic had spread among the villagers and various types of discussions had started.

Investigation started after villagers’ suspicion

Here, after continuous deaths in Kharve village, on June 6, 2026, the villagers reached Kasdol police station and demanded investigation of the entire matter. The villagers had expressed doubt on Ramshay Jaiswal in their application. After this, the police took the matter seriously and started investigation.

During the investigation, the police exhumed the bodies of 7 deceased and sent them to Raipur for post-mortem and forensic investigation. The last rites of one deceased, Budhram, had already been performed, hence his body could not be made available.

During investigation, the police also got information that the accused had purchased a poisonous substance called Suhaga on the pretext of killing rats. On the basis of this clue, the investigation proceeded and the police reached the accused.

Technical evidence revealed the whole secret

On the basis of technical evidence and information received from the villagers, the police detained Ramshay Jaiswal and interrogated him. Initially the accused denied all the allegations, but as the interrogation progressed he confessed to his crime.

During interrogation, the accused told that he had earlier poisoned a dog to test whether the poisonous substance was effective or not. When he was sure that the poison was working, he started giving the same poisonous substance to the villagers to drink on different occasions.

Here on Tuesday, the police took the accused to his house, grocery shop and the crime scene. During this period, poisonous substance mixed in liquor was also recovered. Seeing the accused, the villagers got angry and expressed their anger against him.

Used to choose victim due to old rivalry, suspicion and debt

The police investigation here revealed that Ramshay Jaiswal had targeted every person for different reasons. He had an old enmity with someone, he suspected someone of keeping an evil eye on his wife, and he had enmity with someone over debt and election dispute.

Badri Patel died on 6 February 2026. According to the police, the accused had a grudge against Badri for abusing him and harassing him for drinking. That’s why he made him drink poisoned liquor.

Budhalu Sahu died on 20 February 2026. The accused was angry with him for abusing the society and the old election dispute. Due to this rivalry, he was made to drink poisonous liquor.

Chhatturam Sahu died on 12 March 2026. The accused suspected that Chhatturam had an evil eye on his wife. Because of this suspicion he targeted him.

Budhram Jaiswal died on 20 March 2026. According to the police, land transactions and social rivalry became the reason for this murder.

Vinod Kumar died on 31 March 2026. The accused was upset with the continuous abuses from him. Vinod died in Kasdol hospital after drinking poisonous liquor.

Gajanand Manjhi lost his life on 28 April 2026. The accused suspected that Gajanand practiced sorcery. Due to this suspicion, he was given poisoned liquor.

Chaituram Sahu died on 29 April 2026. According to the police, the accused had a loan of Rs 50 thousand from Chaituram and he was also troubled with the interest. To get rid of the debt he conspired and killed her.

Mahetru Ram died on 14 May 2026. The accused had an old election dispute with him and there was also a rivalry over taunting. For this reason he was also poisoned to death.

Influential people of the village were targeted

According to the people of the village, those who died were considered influential in their respective areas. Badri Patel was active in village meetings. Budhalu Sahu was ahead in social work. Budhram Jaiswal was considered the leader of the village.

Chhatturam Sahu had been former Sarpanch three times. Vinod Sahu was the son of a police station in-charge. Gajanand Manjhi was known as the Baiga who conducted Shanti Puja in the village. Chaituram Sahu had a good influence among the people, while Mahetaru Sahu used to actively participate in Shanti Puja.

The village was in panic due to the long series of deaths.

Here in Kharve village, the series of deaths started with the death of Badri Patel on 6 February 2026. After this, Budhalu Sahu died on 20 February. Budhram Jaiswal lost his life on 12 March and Chhatturam Sahu lost his life on 20 March.

Vinod Sahu died here on 31 March. After this, Gajanand Manjhi died on 28 April and Chaituram Sahu died on 29 April. The last death occurred on 14th May of Mehteru Sahu.

The death of 8 people in a single village within just three months had shaken the entire area. A large number of villagers had reached Kasdol police station and demanded an impartial investigation into the matter.

The discussion of sacrifice for treasure had spread

Amidst the continuous deaths, many discussions had started in the village. Villager Kamta Prasad said that word had spread among the people that there was a plan to sacrifice 21 people to retrieve buried money or treasure.

There was also discussion in the village that till now 8 people have died and 13 more people may die. However, no angle like sacrifice for treasure has come to light in the police investigation and interrogation.

Case of murder and attempt to murder registered

Here Balodabazar Police has registered a case of murder of 8 people and attempt to murder of one person against accused Ramshay Jaiswal. According to the police, the accused used to call people and make them drink a poisonous substance called suhaga mixed in liquor.

District Superintendent of Police OP Sharma told reporters that a case of 8 murders and one attempt to murder has been registered against the accused. Investigation has revealed that people were given liquor mixed with poison. Now further legal action is being taken in the entire matter.
