Chhattisgarh News: After the historic surrender of 210 Naxalites in the state, the Chhattisgarh government has now focused on its comprehensive plan to rehabilitate these surrendered people and make peace in Bastar permanent. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma jointly announced that the rehabilitation policy of the government will provide a dignified life to these people, and will also give impetus to the development of the backward Bastar region.
Confidence in a new life through rehabilitation
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai described the move as “historic” and said all this was possible because the Maoists had reposed faith in the Constitution and the rehabilitation policy. He said that this policy, made with the cooperation of the Center and the State, aims to ensure that those who have returned to the mainstream get a proper place in the society.
Main government schemes announced by CM Sai:
Economic Stability: Every person who surrenders will be given financial assistance for three consecutive years, so that they can become self-reliant.
Housing and Land: 4 decimals in urban areas and 1 acre agricultural land will be provided in rural areas.
Housing Scheme: With the help of the Central Government, 15,000 Prime Minister houses have been sanctioned, which will be ready soon.
Industry and Employment: Special provisions have been made in the industrial policy of the state, under which employment opportunities will be created by providing land to these people at cheap rates.
Development is the solution: The CM stressed that the government is carrying out rapid development work in the untouched areas of Bastar – roads are being built, electricity is being provided and ration supply is being ensured – these are the things that are motivating the Maoists to come on the path of peace.
Deputy CM Sharma: Roadmap to peace and goal of conditional end
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma described this success as the result of the desire of the people of Bastar for peace. He said that the decades of terror and bloodshed caused by the Maoist organization would be ended through rehabilitation.
Important things included in the agenda of Deputy CM:
Target of ending Maoism: Deputy CM expressed confidence that with this policy of the government, Maoism will be conditionally ended by the stipulated time of 2026.
Social rehabilitation: He said that they have been rehabilitated before the society, because “society is bigger than the government.” This initiative reflects the government’s intention to take the society along.
Focus on Maad Division: He said that the dedication of the entire committee of Maad Division is a big success. Now only a few comrades are left in Keshakal and Company 05 in North Bastar, who are being contacted.
Demand of jailed comrades: The demand of bringing back the jailed Maoists is also being considered. If they want rehabilitation instead of arrest, this option will also be given.
Overall, the government has made it clear that the dedication is only the beginning, the real work now is to put the rehabilitation and development agenda on the ground, so that a new era of peace and trust can begin in Bastar.
