Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: Tension is increasing over seat sharing within the grand alliance for Bihar Assembly elections 2025. Despite frequent meetings between all the parties, no final consensus has been reached yet. According to sources, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has offered Congress to contest elections on 50 seats, whereas Congress is adamant on the demand of at least 60 seats. The party has given 24 hours time to RJD and warned that if no decision is taken on seat sharing then it will release the list of candidates for the first phase.

The last date for nomination for the first phase is October 17, but till now there has been no result of the talks between the two parties. RJD has made it clear that compromise is possible only on 50 seats or less. At the same time, Congress wants to be given more seats than in the last elections. To resolve this impasse, the discussion has now reached Delhi, where Tejashwi Yadav can meet Rahul Gandhi.

Meanwhile, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav are leaving for Delhi. He is scheduled to appear in Rouse Avenue Court on October 13 in the “Land for Jobs case”. According to political experts, this visit of Tejashwi will be important not only for legal but also for political strategy. At the same time, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has also sought stake in Bihar. The party warned of seat sharing by October 15 and said that if a consensus is not reached within the stipulated time, it will release its candidate list. JMM has staked claim on 12 border seats of Bihar namely Tarapur, Katoria, Manihari, Jhajha, Banka, Thakurganj, Rupauli, Rampur, Banmankhi, Jamalpur, Peerpainti and Chakai.

Here, the resentment of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahni also seems to be increasing. He wrote on social media that on November 14, he will form a government which will give respect to every class. According to sources, Sahni has demanded 30 seats and the post of Deputy CM, due to which the dissatisfaction within the alliance is deepening. However, Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda said that “the grand alliance is completely united and RJD, Congress and JMM together will form a strong government in Bihar.” Taking aim at BJP, he said that Amit Shah is incompetent and useless, and the party is trying to divert the public from the real issues.
