Bihar News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Employment Scheme’ in Bihar. Under this scheme, Rs 10-10 thousand has been sent directly to the bank accounts of 75 lakh women of Bihar, that is, a total amount of Rs 7,500 crore was transferred. Prime Minister Modi was involved in this program virtually.

Profit distribution will start from October 3

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar explained in detail about the scheme. He said that if the business of women goes well, then they will also be given additional financial assistance of up to two lakh rupees. Nitish Kumar also informed that dates have been fixed for other women to get the benefit of the scheme, of which the next date is 3 October. After this, funds will be sent to the bank accounts of women beneficiaries every week. Targeting the previous governments, Nitish Kumar said that there was no development in Bihar earlier, but since the formation of the NDA government, the pace of development in Bihar has increased. The rule of law has been established in the state and now every field is developing rapidly.

Efforts made for women empowerment were also shared by Nitish Kumar. He informed that 50% reservation for women was arranged in Panchayati Raj institutions in 2006 and municipal bodies in 2007. In 2013, 35% reservation for police in police and government jobs in 2016 was also given.

The Chief Minister also informed that earlier the number of self -help groups in Bihar was very less, but now it is known as Jeevika. The number of these groups is now around 11 lakhs, and it includes 1.40 crore Jeevika Didi. In 2024, livelihood groups have also been formed in urban areas, whose number has now reached 37 thousand. Appreciating Prime Minister Modi and the central government, Nitish Kumar said that Bihar will be given special financial assistance for road, industry, health, tourism and flood relief. In addition, financial assistance will also be provided for projects such as Makhana Board, Airport and Western Kosi Canal.

Finally, Nitish Kumar expressed confidence that women will take advantage of this scheme and improve their family conditions and contribute to the development of the state and the country.
