Bihar DA Hike: The first cabinet meeting was held on Wednesday after the cabinet expansion of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary in Bihar. A total of 19 proposals were approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by CM Samrat Chaudhary. In the meeting, important decisions like increase in dearness allowance of government employees, employment related decisions and transfer of land for CISF training center in Kishanganj were taken.
Lakhs of government employees and pensioners will get benefits
Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary reached Bihar Secretariat in an electric car before the cabinet meeting. Many ministers also kept the number of vehicles in the convoy less and reached the Secretariat in only one vehicle. This step of the government is being seen as a message of simplicity and environmental protection. After the meeting, the departmental secretary informed that the government has approved the increase in dearness allowance of employees and pensioners with effect from January 1, 2026.
Increase in dearness allowance will be implemented from January 2026
At present, government employees were getting 58 percent dearness allowance, which has now been increased to 60 percent. Lakhs of government employees and pensioners will benefit from this decision. According to the government, the increase in dearness allowance will be implemented from January 2026, so employees will also get arrears of five months. Employees receiving salary and pension under the Seventh Centrally Revised Pay Structure will now get 60 percent dearness allowance instead of 58 percent. At the same time, sixth pay scale employees and pensioners will be given 262 percent dearness allowance instead of 257 percent.
With this, government employees receiving salary and pension under the fifth pay scale will now get 483 percent dearness allowance instead of 474 percent. Another major decision was taken in the cabinet meeting regarding Kishanganj district. The government approved the proposal to transfer 110.12 acres of land free of cost to the Union Home Ministry for the construction of CISF Training Centre. It is believed that this will increase employment and development possibilities in the area.
