Bihar Election 2025: The political stir has intensified only a few months before the assembly elections in Bihar. Both the major coalitions, grand alliances and NDAs of the state are trying to woo the public in their own way. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has tried to attract the people of Bihar through many schemes and schemes, while Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav are also trying to strengthen their position in the electoral fray through their ‘Vote Rights Yatra’.
However, the real issues of the state, such as floods and natural disasters, are almost ignored amidst electoral buzz in Bihar. Every year millions of people of Bihar are affected due to floods, and there is no improvement in the state’s situation. Neither the opposition raises any question on these issues nor is taken seriously by the ruling party. While the people of Bihar are worried about their political future, floods and other natural disasters are facing huge difficulties in everyday life.
Flood situation in Bihar
Floods in Bihar are a serious and frequent problem. Many districts of the state, especially the Ganges and other major rivers, are in the grip of floods every year. Not only crops are destroyed due to floods, but many people also lose their lives. Recently, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Munger, Bhojpur, Patna, Vaishali, Buxar, Saran, Samastipur, Khagaria and Kaimur districts have been badly affected by floods. These districts are mainly affected by the boom of the Ganges, Kosi, Gandak, Mahananda and Bagmati rivers, causing a ruin in the state. A total of 28 districts of Bihar are considered flood -affected, and every year many of these districts are hit by floods. Floods in Bihar are a major and annual problem. About 73% of the state is flood prone, with 28 districts affected the most. Bihar is about 30-40% of the damage caused by floods in India.
Boat accident: another tragedy
Another tragedy has come to light due to floods in Bihar. Recently, a major boat accident took place in Belapatti of Triveniganj police station area of Supaul district. There were 12 people in the accident, including 10 women and 2 sailors. The boat overturned in the middle river, killing a woman and went missing 4 people. The incident took place on Tuesday evening when these people were returning home with grass. The accident took place in Benga Dhar, which was in spate due to floods. The incident has once again exposed the seriousness of the situation in flood affected areas of Bihar. Every year hundreds of people lose their lives due to such accidents, and this situation becomes even more difficult due to lack of adequate security measures in flood affected areas by the state government.
Only by ignoring flood crisis, only focus on election schemes
The flood affected areas of the state are being completely ignored during the Bihar assembly elections. This is the situation when millions of people are affected due to floods every year and thousands die. Political parties are engaged in wooing the public with their respective plans and travel, while the real problem, ie floods and the tragedy, is missing from their priorities. The leaders of Bihar should focus on this serious issue, so that the people of the state can get relief and such tragedies can be reduced in the coming time.
