BJP-Jdu 20-minute power meeting: The summit was held at a hotel in Patna between the BJP and the top leaders of the BJP and the JDU regarding the preparations for the next assembly elections in Bihar. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were also present in this meeting. The meeting lasted for about 20 minutes, but both parties have not shared any official information related to the discussion of this meeting. However, it is being speculated that the main agenda of the meeting was about the seat sharing of the assembly elections.
Since this meeting between JDU and BJP leaders, it has become clear that both parties are ready to contest at least 100 seats in the upcoming assembly elections. At the same time, one seat is being demanded by JDU from BJP. Along with this, Bihar’s election equation also demands seats for other allies like Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party-Ramvilas, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (Hum) and Upendra Kushwaha’s party, which is not visible at the moment.
JP Nadda’s visit to Patna
BJP President JP Nadda also came to Patna on Wednesday, but he did not meet Nitish Kumar. He then returned to Delhi. At the same time, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Patna is considered very important for BJP workers. Shah held meetings in Dehri and Begusarai to give tips on electoral strategy to leaders and workers of 20 districts of Bihar.
During Shah’s visit to Bihar, Nitish Kumar reached Maurya Hotel to meet him. During this time, JDU executive president Sanjay Jha and Minister Vijay Chaudhary were also with him. At the same time, BJP’s Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and State President Dilip Jaiswal were also present in the meeting.
Complicated equation on seat sharing
During the meeting, it became clear that there is a dispute between BJP and JDU over seat sharing. While the BJP is ready to contest at least 100 seats, JDU also wants to achieve this figure. However, no consensus has yet been reached about the number of seats between the two parties. In addition, there is a tussle over seats between other parties involved in the NDA. Chirag Paswan’s LJPR has demanded 30-40 seats, while Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party ‘Hum’ is ready for 15 seats. Upendra Kushwaha’s party is also demanding 8-10 seats. A lot of issues are being discussed within the NDA at this time, in which a complex situation has arisen over seat sharing to keep the alliance strong.
At the same time, the situation of Mukesh Sahni is also very important among the allies of BJP. Sahni, who joined the NDA from the Grand Alliance in 2020, can also leave the Grand Alliance suddenly, and for this, arrangements will be required.
Seat sharing confusion
As soon as the assembly elections approached, the question has started to arise as to how the complex puzzle of seat sharing will be resolved. On the one hand, while the tussle over the seats between JDU and BJP continues, it has become a big challenge for other NDA parties. If all allies are not satisfied, it can prove to be harmful to the alliance. Apart from this, there are differences between several parties over seat sharing in the Grand Alliance, which can later affect the electoral equation. Now it will be interesting to see in which direction this complex equation moves in Bihar politics and when and how the seat sharing is solved.
