Raipur: In the monsoon session of Chhattisgarh Assembly today, Congress has decided to bring a no-confidence motion against the BJP government led by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. This decision was taken in the nearly two-hour long meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) held at the official residence of Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahanta. Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, former Deputy Chief Minister T.S. were present in the meeting. Senior party leaders including Singhdev and State Congress President Deepak Baij discussed the assembly strategy in detail.
Congress says that the state government has completely failed to fulfill the promises made to the public, hence answers will be sought from the government through a no-confidence motion in the Assembly.
Allegations of non-promise and corruption against the government
Leader of Opposition Charandas Mahanta made a scathing attack on the BJP government and said that Congress has no faith in the present government. According to him, the government has proved unsuccessful on every front and has lost the trust of the public.
Mahant said that this no-confidence motion is not just a political formality, but a voice of broken public trust and growing dissatisfaction.
He alleged that corruption is continuously increasing in the state, while the general public is struggling with problems like inflation, unemployment, power crisis and administrative disorganization.
Congress will corner the government on these issues
The major issues that Congress has decided to raise during the monsoon session include power crisis, inflation, farmers’ problems, law and order, youth employment issues, other questions related to public interest.
The party says that answers will be sought from the government on every issue related to the general public in the Assembly.
Nakti village issue will also become a big weapon
The issue of Nakti village also figured prominently in the Congress Legislature Party meeting. The party has decided to bring an adjournment motion in the Assembly on this issue so that an immediate discussion can be held by stopping the normal proceedings of the House.
Charandas Mahant said that Congress will not let the issue of Nakti village be suppressed at any cost. If necessary, there will be a strong protest within the House regarding this issue.
Government will not get relief in five day session
Congress has clarified that even though the monsoon session of the Assembly is for only five days, the opposition will not give relief to the government on any day. Every day, answers will be sought from the government on new issues of public interest.
Mahant said that if the government does not listen to the voice of the people, then the Congress movement will not be limited to the Assembly only, but the struggle against the government will continue from the streets to the House.
