Chhattisgarh News: Raipur, Chhattisgarh: New rates of Goods and Services Tax (GST) have been implemented in the whole country from today, which has given a big gift to consumers before the festival of Diwali. Describing it as a historic decision, Finance Minister of Chhattisgarh, Chhattisgarh, said that this will increase the purchasing power of the general public and will give new pace to the economy.

Chaudhary gave credit for this decision to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and said that 140 crore people of the country have received this historic gift through “GST 2.0 Reform”. After income tax exemption of up to Rs 12 lakh, the government has now reduced GST rates on many essential commodities of daily life.

Everyday needs will be cheap

The Finance Minister said that due to the reduction in GST rates, everyday items like oil, shampoo, soap, toothbrush will become cheaper. Along with this, the prices of electronics goods such as AC, fridge, and TV will also decrease. Farmers have also got great relief, because prices have been reduced on tractors and agricultural implements. This step will increase the savings of the general public and strengthen their cost of spending, which will brighten the market.

Chaudhary appealed to the traders to make the full benefit of this decision to the consumers and give full advantage of the low prices to the customers.

Government dedicated to maternal power: Mahtari Vandan Yojana

Along with the GST reform, Finance Minister OP Chaudhary congratulated all the mothers and sisters of the state on the beginning of the holy festival of Navratri. He said that in our culture, the honor of women is paramount and our government is dedicated to mother power.

The biggest example of this is the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Under this scheme, 70 lakh mothers are getting financial assistance, giving them new confidence and energy. Giving the example of Danasara village in Sarangarh district, he said that mothers benefiting from this scheme are constructing the Sri Ram temple at their own expense.

He further informed that mothers and sisters who are getting the benefit of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana are being provided a loan of up to Rs 25,000 from rural banks under the maternal power loan scheme at only 1% monthly interest. They can use this amount for work such as buying sewing machines, starting a small business or running a grocery store.
