Uttarakhand CM: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami virtually participated in the ‘First Dhanvantari Mahotsav’ organized in Malagram, Yamkeshwar on Sunday. Wishing everyone a happy ‘First Dhanvantari Mahotsav’, he said that ‘Herbal World Himalaya Shri Dhanvantari Dham’ established in Malagram, Yamkeshwar is the only holistic center of Ayurveda and Naturopathy in the entire world. This Dham will be a living embodiment of India’s “Health Culture”, where along with the health principles established by our great sages, there will be a wonderful confluence of 09 major medical systems based on botanical science and about 964 medical systems of the world.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that this holy place will be useful in the field of Ayurveda, Yoga, medicinal plants and holistic health and will also play an important role in promoting innovation, research and training in the field of naturopathy. He said that Ayurveda is a unique medical system of the world which has been ensuring the health of human civilization since ancient times. Due to the holistic approach of Ayurveda, its acceptance is continuously increasing today. Ayurveda makes us healthy physically, mentally and spiritually. Uttarakhand has been the land of wisdom of Ayurveda and medicinal wealth since ancient times. Medicinal herbs found in our mountainous region have played an important role in establishing Ayurveda as the basic element of health.

Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of AYUSH was established with the aim of promoting ancient Ayurvedic medical systems and providing healthy life to the people. Under which, on one hand, health and wellness is being established among the citizens through various programs like ‘National AYUSH Mission’ and ‘Prakriti Prakriti Abhiyan’, on the other hand, research, training and innovation in the field of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy are also being encouraged.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working for the promotion of Ayurveda in the state. More than 300 Ayushman health centers are being operated in the state. AYUSH hospitals with 50 and 10 beds are also being established in every district of the state. By implementing the AYUSH policy in the state, concrete steps are also being taken for drug manufacturing, wellness, education, research and production and promotion of medicinal plants. The state government is also working towards setting up 50 new yoga and wellness centers along with starting AYUSH tele-consultation services in the coming years. A provision of grant up to Rs 10 lakh has also been made to promote research in the field of yoga, meditation and naturopathy in the state. To promote Ayurvedic and Naturopathy, Yoga and spiritual tourism in the state, one Spiritual Economic Zone is being established in Garhwal and Kumaon divisions.

Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, former Chief Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Swami Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna, Baba Hatayogi were present in the program.
