Devbhoomi Cultural Festival 2025: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the closing ceremony of the two-day “Devbhoomi Cultural Mahotsav 2025” organized in the country’s first village Mana on Sunday. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local communities, tourists and distinguished guests. The festival was conducted under the joint auspices of the Indian Army and the Government of Uttarakhand. Praising the festival, the Chief Minister said that due to the smooth coordination of local people, army and administration, this event was very successful, which has taken an important step towards promoting tourism and economy in the border areas.
The Chief Minister visited the stalls set up by the district administration and the Army and the “Know Your Army” exhibition. He said that this exhibition will further strengthen the trust and cooperation between the Indian Army and the general public. He especially appreciated the equipment, models and information material displayed by the Army.
School children gave a spectacular presentation of traditional folk dances and songs during the festival. The Chief Minister distributed awards to the outstanding performing children and said that these glimpses of Garhwali folk culture reflect the real pride of Devbhoomi. The performance of Garhwali band, local artists and artisans also enthralled everyone.
The stalls set up by local artisans and self-help groups showcasing traditional weavings, wooden handicrafts, organic products, local cuisine and other heritage items were greatly appreciated by the tourists. The Chief Minister said that this initiative strengthens the objectives of the Vibrant Village Program and provides new livelihood opportunities to the youth and women.
The Chief Minister said that this festival is not only a medium of entertainment but will prove helpful in tourism development, employment generation, promotion of reverse migration during winter season and strengthening the economy of the border areas. At the end of the program, the Chief Minister visited Shri Badrivishal and offered prayers and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the state and the countrymen. During this, District Magistrate Shri Gaurav Kumar, Superintendent of Police Shri Sarvesh Panwar, BKTC Chief Executive Officer Shri Vijay Thapliyal and many public representatives, officers, military officers and local citizens were present.
