Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the concluding session of Sparsh Himalaya Mahotsav-2025 organized at Writer Village, Thano, Dehradun on Wednesday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister prayed for happiness and peace in the state by offering prayers at the temple located in Writer village.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, while paying tribute to all the agitators on the occasion of silver jubilee of the establishment of the state, said that the concept of Writer Village is a symbol of the ideas which give direction to the society, which teach the coming generations to build the future by connecting them with their roots. He said that this festival organized in Writer Village is the beginning of a new creative journey.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working for the preservation and promotion of literature and culture. In the state, through Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman, excellent litterateurs are honored and grants are also being provided to litterateurs under the Financial Assistance Scheme for publishing books in different languages. The state government is also working to honor the outstanding litterateurs of the state with Sahitya Bhushan and Life Time Achievement Award. In which an amount of up to Rs 5 lakh has also been announced.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is also organizing various competitions and programs to attract the young generation towards literature. To make Uttarakhand the best state of the country, the state government is working continuously with a determination without any option. With the cooperation of all the litterateurs, artists, scholars and cultural practitioners, we will definitely be successful in bringing this resolution to fruition.

The Chief Minister said President Draupadi Murmu addressed the special session organized by the Uttarakhand Assembly on the occasion of its silver jubilee year. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is also coming to Uttarakhand on the State Foundation Day on 9th November.

The Chief Minister said that in a culturally rich state like Uttarakhand, Writer Village is giving a platform to local talents and giving a new identity to the state on the literary map of the world. He said that in the coming times, the Writer Village will work to connect the ancient traditions of India with the modern vision.

On this occasion, former Chief Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, former Defense Secretary Dr. Yogendra Narayan, Lieutenant Anil Kumar Bhatt (Retd.), Padmashree Dr. Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Vidushi Nishank and others were present.
