CM Pushkar Singh Dhami: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off the ‘Run for Kargil Heroes’ marathon organized at Shaurya Sthal, Chirbagh, Garhikant, Dehradun on Saturday on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. On this occasion, the Chief Minister paid heartfelt tribute to the immortal martyrs by laying a wreath at Shaurya Sthal and paid tribute to their supreme sacrifice for the protection of the nation.
The Chief Minister said that Kargil Vijay Diwas is a symbol of the indomitable courage, bravery, bravery and unwavering dedication of the Indian Army towards the nation. In the year 1999, the brave Indian soldiers displayed unparalleled bravery in adverse circumstances, protected the motherland and demonstrated the indomitable courage of the Indian Army to the world. He said that the country will always be indebted to the sacrifice of its brave soldiers and martyrs.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is known as the land of heroes. Many brave soldiers of the state have brought pride to the country by their unmatched courage and supreme sacrifice in various military operations including the Kargil War. The State Government is continuously working for the welfare of soldiers, ex-servicemen and their dependents and is striving with full commitment to protect their honor and interests. He called upon the youth to take inspiration from the ideals of martyrs and actively contribute to nation building and sincerely discharge their responsibilities towards the unity, integrity and security of the country.
On this occasion, Soldier Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi, a large number of ex-servicemen, youth, matriarchs and many dignitaries were present.
