Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the public awareness program based on the theme “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility” at the Secretariat on Monday. This public awareness program will be run across the state till the State Foundation Day, 09 November 2025. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also administered the pledge of integrity to the officers.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister remembered the iron man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ji, who embodied the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” and said that Patel ji dedicated every moment of his life to the unity, integrity of India and building a strong nation. This awareness program is being organized to commemorate his birthday. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi not only took the pledge of a corruption-free India, but also worked to implement it on the ground. Under his leadership a new work culture has developed in the country. Governance has been made people-centric to make it transparent and accountable.
The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the state government is working determinedly with a policy of zero tolerance against corruption. After the formation of the state, the Vigilance Department took prompt action and arrested 339 corrupt officers and employees red-handed. In the last three years, the Vigilance Department has arrested 78 corrupt people along with more than 27 people in other cases and sent them to jail.
The Chief Minister said that toll free number 1064 is being operated with the aim of curbing corruption in the state and making the governance system transparent and accountable. Through this, around ten thousand complaints were registered in the last three years, out of which trap action was taken in 62 complaints and open investigation action was taken in 4 complaints. He said that corruption will not be tolerated in the state under any circumstances, whoever commits corruption will be behind bars. The Chief Minister said that this campaign should be publicized on a wide scale by all departments.
Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan said that for the strength of the society and administration, it is necessary for all the personnel to be truthful, honest and disciplined in their work. Corruption automatically ends when there is discipline towards work. He said that commendable efforts have been made in the last four years under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami to get rid of corruption. On this occasion, DGP Shri Deepam Seth, Principal Secretary Shri L. Fanai, Director Vigilance Shri V. Murugesan, Secretaries and senior police officers were present.
