CM Pushkar Singh Dhami: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the 117th Executive Committee meeting program of All India Mayor’s Council at Hotel Natraj, Rishikesh on Wednesday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 3 schemes worth Rs 29.78 crore. This includes inauguration of one scheme worth Rs 23.15 crore and laying of foundation stone of two schemes worth Rs 6.63 crore.
Welcoming the mayors of various cities, the Chief Minister said that all the mayors are the first citizens of their city and also representatives of the hopes, expectations and trust of the city residents. Your decision also impacts the future of coming generations. He said that the soul of our country resides in the villages, while the dreams of our citizens, their aspirations and the possibilities of their future take shape in the cities.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special attachment to Uttarakhand. The Prime Minister has spent important moments of his life in Uttarakhand. He is well acquainted with every area of Uttarakhand. He said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, this year more than 30 lakh devotees have undertaken the Char Dham Yatra in a total of 45 days, which is a new record. The Chief Minister said that our priority is that the journey of the devotees should be simple, easy and safe. He said that earlier, 500 people used to come to Adi Kailash, since the beginning of the Yatra this year till now around 1000 people are reaching Adi Kailash every day. He told that 24 lakh people have also visited Maa Purnagiri temple. More than 23 crore tourists have come to Uttarakhand in the last four years.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unprecedented work is being done in the field of urban development in India. Today, through Swachh Bharat Mission, a new culture of cleanliness has developed in lakhs of cities of the country. A model of modern and well-organized urban development is being developed by the Smart City Mission. The dream of having a house for lakhs of poor families has come true through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Through Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana, work has been done to make street vendors self-reliant.
The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, new momentum is being given to the development of the cities of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Under Swachh Bharat Mission in Uttarakhand, solid waste management and sanitation system is being strengthened in every city. The benefits of various public welfare schemes like Smart City Mission, Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Amrit Mission, Open Defecation Free Campaign and Legacy Waste Management are being given to every citizen of Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister said that for the first time in the state, Urban Health and Wellness Centers have been established in municipal bodies with the aim of providing accessible health services to poor families in urban areas. Shelter Scheme has been started with the aim of providing shelter to destitute cattle in the state. Animal Birth Control Scheme has been started to prevent the increasing number of dogs in local bodies. Effective steps are also being taken towards development of green areas and pollution control.
The Chief Minister said that our cities also present the real image of the country before the world. If cities are well-organized, clean, safe and developed, India’s image will also be established as a strong, prosperous and leading nation. He said that if the city is clean then the whole of India will be clean. If the city is well organized, the whole country will be well organized. He said that if every city is strong, safe and prosperous, India will definitely become a developed nation.
Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal said that on the lines of Developed India 2047, we are also working to move developed Uttarakhand forward. Developing the metropolis, making it self-reliant, solar energy, waste management, rainwater harvesting, establishment of local and small industries and self-reliant metropolis have an important role in fulfilling the vision of developed India.
The Chief Minister installed EVs at 10 places in Municipal Corporation, Rishikesh on PPP mode built at a cost of ₹ 1.80 crore. Laid the foundation stone for the construction works of charging stations and rain water harvesting works at 12 places in Rishikesh at a cost of Rs 4.83 crore. He laid the foundation stone of construction work of compost plant and sanitary landfill site Lal Pani Beet under the Solid Waste Management Scheme of Municipal Corporation Rishikesh at a cost of ₹ 23.15 crore. The Chief Minister also visited various places.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Ram Singh Kaida, MLA Premchandra Aggarwal, Mayor Shambhu Paswan, Renu Bala Gupta, Ashutosh and mayors from various cities across the country were present.
