Uttarakhand News: On the occasion of Dhami Lokparv Igas, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh today reached village Bhaunr under Vasukedar area of ​​Rudraprayag district, where he met the families affected by the recent disaster and conducted an on-site review of the relief and reconstruction works.

Financial assistance to disaster affected families

Expressing deep condolences to the families who suffered loss of life and property during the disaster, the Chief Minister presented checks of Rs 5 lakh each as financial assistance to the families of deceased Kuldeep Singh Negi forest worker and Sate Singh. He said that the state government is fully committed to the rehabilitation and relief work of the affected families and no victim will be allowed to feel alone.

Emphasis on strengthening disaster management

The Chief Minister personally met the disaster affected people in village Bhaunar and listened carefully to their experiences and problems. He directed the officials to provide timely relief assistance to all the affected families and to complete the reconstruction works on priority basis. He said that all the damaged structures related to roads, drinking water, electricity, housing, and communication systems in the disaster affected area have been immediately rebuilt so that people can get back to normal life as soon as possible. Chief Minister Shri Dhami also had midday meal with the disaster affected families and spent time with them assuring them that the government stands with them. He said that Uttarakhand is a disaster-sensitive state, and that is why the government has taken several concrete steps to make disaster management stronger and effective. He told the officials that transparency, promptness and sensitivity should be maintained in relief work.

Announcement of permanent helipad and Anganwadi center

The Chief Minister announced the construction of a permanent helipad in this disaster-affected area to take immediate action on emergency situations. Along with this, on the demand of the villagers, it was announced the construction of Anganwadi center in village Bhaunr. He announced a sum of Rs 1 crore to soon construct a motor road up to this village so that two-wheelers can move in the area. The Chief Minister gave instructions to make a plan to relocate the people who lost their houses during the disaster in Chenagad and also talked about giving compensation to the people whose vehicles were damaged during the disaster.

Villagers expressed gratitude

The Chief Minister said that the state government has made special provisions under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the rehabilitation of disaster affected families. He appealed to the people to remain patient in difficult times and follow the guidelines issued by the government. On the arrival of the Chief Minister, the villagers warmly welcomed him and expressed gratitude for the prompt relief efforts being undertaken by the State Government. On this occasion, MLA Rudraprayag Bharat Chaudhary, District Magistrate Rudraprayag Prateek Jain, Chief Development Officer Rajendra Singh Rawat, Additional District Magistrate Shyam Singh Rana, Deputy Superintendent of Police Prabodh Ghildiyal, District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar, Tehsil Administration, Public Works Department, Drinking Water Corporation and officials of other departments and public representatives were present.
