Dewas Police Seize 14 Boxes of Illegal Liquor and Car, One Accused Arrested. Madhya Pradesh News: Major action against illegal liquor in Dewas, 14 boxes of liquor and car seized, accused arrested. News Track in Hindi

Dewas, May 23 (IANS). Industrial police station in Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh has taken major action against illegal liquor trade and seized 14 boxes of liquor and a car. In this case, the police has arrested an accused, who was preparing to bring liquor from Indore and supply it in Dewas. There has been a stir in the area after the action.

According to the information, the Industrial Station Police had received information from an informer that a person was going to reach Dewas with a large quantity of illicit liquor in his car. Based on the information, the police cordoned off a suspicious Indigo car near Tata intersection and searched it. During the search, 14 boxes of illicit liquor were recovered from the car. Police arrested the accused Shyam Yogi from the spot. Initial interrogation revealed that the accused was preparing to bring a consignment of liquor from Indore and sell and supply it in Dewas. The police have also seized a car filled with liquor from the possession of the accused.

Dewas CSP Sumit Aggarwal said that this action has been taken by the Industrial Area police station. He said that 14 cartons of illegal liquor have been recovered from the accused, the total value of which is estimated to be around Rs 3 lakh. Police are trying to find out from where the accused had brought this liquor and to whom it was to be supplied.

CSP said that information about other people involved in illegal liquor business is also being collected. Police are investigating the network of the accused and the role of others associated with him. Besides, it is also being ascertained for what purpose the liquor consignment was brought and whether any big gang is active behind it.

Police officials say that a continuous campaign is being run against illegal liquor trade in the district. The police is taking vigilant action to maintain law and order and stop illegal activities. Officials clarified that such action will continue in future also and strict action will be taken against those doing illegal business. At present, a case has been registered against the accused under the Excise Act and further investigation has been started.
