CM Mohan Yadav: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will launch the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign at 11 am in the state level function organized at Kushabhau Thackeray International Auditorium, Bhopal on World Environment Day. 11 state level environment awards will be presented in 8 categories in the program. The above awards will be given to industrial units, educational institutions, social organizations and individuals doing excellent work in the field of environmental protection, pollution control and sustainable development for the year 2024-25.
Documents related to circular economy and water conservation will be released
CM Mohan Yadav will release 5 course modules related to circular economy and documentation documents of 500 stepwells of 16 districts under the Jal Ganga Augmentation Abhiyan run by APCO and INTACH in Madhya Pradesh. On this occasion, notable works done in the field of innovations related to environmental protection, circular economy and water conservation will also be displayed and presented. Minister of State for Forest and Environment Mr. Dilip Ahirwar and Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Ashok Baranwal will also participate in the event.
‘One tree in the name of mother 2.0’ campaign
Under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign, citizens, educational institutions, industries, self-help groups, urban bodies, panchayats and various social organizations will be motivated to plant trees. Geo-tagging of the planted saplings will be done and their registration will be done on the ‘Meri Life’ portal. Monitoring and conservation of geo-tagged plants will be ensured through the portal. Under this campaign started in the year 2024, crores of saplings have been planted so far in Madhya Pradesh. This campaign will be conducted across the state with public participation from June 5 to September 30, 2026.
Various environmental programs will be held at the district level
On World Environment Day, June 5, various programs will be organized in Madhya Pradesh up to the district level to transform environmental protection, bio-diversity promotion and tree plantation based on public participation into a mass movement. This year the event will focus on the United Nations theme ‘Inspired by Nature, for Climate and for our Future’ and the countrywide message ‘Now for Climate’. In the programme, views on environmental protection, climate change, pollution control and sustainable development goals will be presented by experts, public representatives and environmentalists. This event will become an important platform to strengthen environmental consciousness in the state and connect different sections of the society with environmental protection activities.
Public awareness programs, seminars, rallies, painting and essay competitions, tree planting campaigns, cleanliness activities and environment pledge programs will be organized in all the districts. Active participation of schools, colleges, NSS, NCC, Nehru Yuva Kendra and voluntary organizations will be ensured.
Special programs will be organized at the district level on the themes ‘One Tree – Many Lives’ and ‘Inspired by Nature, Our Future for Climate’. Extensive activities will be conducted to spread the message of water conservation, bio-diversity promotion, plastic-free environment, cleanliness and green development to the people.
