Jan Suraj supporter murder: Amidst the hustle and bustle of Bihar Assembly elections, a sensational murder incident that took place in Mokama late on Wednesday night has spread panic in the entire area. Jan Suraj supporter Dulal Chand Yadav was brutally shot dead by unknown bike riding miscreants in Ghoswari police station area. Election rivalry is suspected to be the reason behind this incident, which has not only created huge tension in the area but has also further inflamed the already heated politics of Mokama. In view of the seriousness of the incident, additional police force has been deployed in Ghoswari police station area. This murder again brings to the fore Bihar’s old trend of political violence before elections.

Rapid attack by bike riders

According to the information, the deceased Dulal Chand Yadav had gone out for some work late on Wednesday night near Ghoswari Bazaar. As soon as two unknown assailants sitting in ambush on a bike saw them, they started firing indiscriminately. Dulal Yadav was hit by several bullets one after the other, due to which he fell on the spot and died a painful death on the spot. After committing the crime, the attackers managed to escape from the spot without any hindrance, taking advantage of the darkness. Hearing the sound of bullets, the local people immediately reached the spot, but by then Dulal Yadav had died. Local people immediately informed the police about this gruesome incident.

Police action and investigation circle

As soon as information about the incident was received, the team of Ghoswari police station reached the spot without any delay and took stock of the entire incident. The police immediately took the body of deceased Dulal Yadav into custody and sent it for post-mortem. Considering the sensitivity of this high-profile case, the police immediately swung into action and launched a massive raid in search of the attackers. On the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, the team raided suspicious hideouts and possible hiding places of criminals in the area. Police have also started scanning the CCTV footage of the area, so that the identity of the attackers and their escape route can be ascertained. In view of the tension in the area, security has been tightened to avoid any untoward incident.

Why is there fear of electoral rivalry?

Both the police and the local people believe that the main reason behind this murder could be election rivalry. Deceased Dulal Chand Yadav was an active face in the politics of Mokama. He had earlier also contested elections from Mokama Assembly seat and this time he was associated with Jan Suraj Organization. Mokama has always been known for muscle power and political rivalry, and political activity here often turns violent during election time. It is believed that in recent times, Dulal Yadav was having a tussle with his political rivals over some issue or the other, which perhaps became the reason for this heinous murder. The police are currently investigating all possible aspects of the incident, which also include personal enmity and property dispute. But considering the active political background of the deceased, the electoral rivalry aspect seems to be the strongest. This incident has once again raised serious questions on political violence during elections in Bihar.
