Giridih, May 25 (IANS). Within 24 hours, the police has busted the case of kidnapping of a youth and demanding ransom in Giridih district of Jharkhand and arrested five accused. Police have safely recovered the kidnapped youth Tasleem Ansari. The motorcycle and mobile phones used in the case have also been seized.
Superintendent of Police Bimal Kumar said on Monday that on Sunday, Iqbal Ansari, a resident of Pandeydih of Gandey police station area, had informed that his cousin 35-year-old Tasleem Ansari had been kidnapped along with his bike from Khandoli area. After the kidnapping, the criminals took the young man hostage and started demanding ransom from his family. Considering the seriousness of the case, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was immediately formed on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police.
In a joint action of the technical branch and the local police, the kidnapped youth was safely recovered from near Chandna Mor in Chunjka forest of Mufassil police station area. Police have arrested five accused in this case. These include Mohammad Sohail and Adil Ansari of Pirtand residents, Sameer Ansari and Afrozi Shah of Mufassil police station area and Irshad Ansari of Pachamba police station area.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that after the kidnapping they had demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh from the family of Tasleem Ansari. According to the police, the accused had also transferred Rs 24 thousand through online medium by sending a QR code. Police have recovered two motorcycles, two mobile phones and the bike of the kidnapped youth from the possession of the accused.
During the investigation, the involvement of two other accused named Raja and Jafar alias Chhachua in this case has also come to light. Both are currently absconding and continuous raids are being conducted for their arrest. In this regard, an FIR has been registered in Bangabad police station under various sections of the Indian Justice Code. Many police officers including Mufassil police station in-charge Shyamkishore Mahato, Nagar police station in-charge Ratan Kumar Singh, Pachamba circle police inspector Gyan Ranjan Kumar and Bangabad police station in-charge Aman Kumar Singh played important roles in the entire operation.
