Uttarakhand News: Details of four major projects under Haridwar Ganga Corridor
1. Har Ki Paidi-Subhash Ghat Redevelopment Project
Under this project, overall development of Subhash Ghat area of Har Ki Paidi Corridor will be done, so that safe, well-organized and better facilities can be provided to the devotees and tourists. Keeping in mind the increasing number of devotees coming, the Dhanush Ghat area will be expanded, so that adequate space can be available for holy bath and other religious activities.
Under the project, Dhanush Bridge, Aastha Path and Boardwalk Bridge will be constructed. Besides, crowd management and emergency evacuation system will be strengthened. The pedestrian path of Ganga Ghat will also be redeveloped and beautified, so that the movement of devotees can become more safe, easy and convenient.
2. Basic Infrastructure Development Project in North Area of Har Ki Paidi
The objective of this project is to develop modern and well-organized infrastructure facilities in the northern area of Har Ki Paidi. In view of the increasing number of devotees coming throughout the year including the upcoming Mahakumbh and Kanwar Yatra, parking, crowd management and public facilities will be strengthened.
Under the project, development of public places, expansion of modern facilities for devotees and strengthening of the infrastructure of the area will be done, so that better operation of traffic and arrangements can be ensured during big religious events.
3. Rodi Belwala Area Redevelopment Project
Through overall redevelopment of Rodi Belwala area, a safe, clean and modern environment will be developed for devotees and tourists. The objective of the project is to strengthen the civic amenities of the area and create modern infrastructure to suit religious and tourism activities.
Under this, strengthening of drainage system, modern lighting system, various civil works, surveillance system, development of pedestrian facilities and expansion of other essential civic facilities will be done.
4. Administrative Road Corridor Development Project
Through this project, the administrative road will be widened, beautified and developed in a modern form. The objective of the project is to ensure safe, smooth and organized traffic system on the main road of Haridwar.
The upgradation of the route will improve traffic operations, make movement of devotees and local citizens more convenient and will also strengthen traffic management during Mahakumbh, Kanwar Yatra and other big events.
