Haryana DGP OP Singh Letter: There is an earthquake in the police department in Haryana these days. After the suicide of first senior IPS Y Puran Kumar and then ASI Sandeep Lather, the department is constantly under the scanner. After IPS suicide, former DGP Shatrujit Kapoor was sent on long leave. Now IPS OP Singh has been given the additional charge of DGP of Haryana.
As soon as he assumed the post, the new DGP OP Singh issued a message-filled letter to boost the morale of the policemen. Giving instructions in the letter, he wrote that such an environment should be created among the people that the lion and the goat drink water at the same ghat. Democracy is assured that the goat and the lion drink water from the same ghat. The lion should not be proud of his strength and the goat should not be proud of his weakness. It is the responsibility of the police to ensure this among the public.
Be an inspiration to others with your behavior and conduct
The new DGP OP Singh further wrote in the letter that he should become an inspiration for others with his behavior and conduct. Everyone has to understand that people have suffered a lot from generation to generation. All of them expect protection, cooperation and relief from you. DGP OP Singh has also mentioned a couplet from Qateel Shifai in the letter. He wrote that he is my friend, everyone knows about him, if he betrays anyone, I will feel ashamed.
The DGP further wrote in the letter that friends of Haryana Police, the country has a glorious history. In ancient times, being a river valley civilization, we were the most prosperous. We also suffered slavery for centuries. Independence is only a matter of a few decades. But in this short time we managed to overcome poverty, illiteracy and disease. The country and the state progressed uninterrupted. Thousands of comrades of the security forces also sacrificed their lives. So far, 84 comrades have attained martyrdom in Haryana alone. I pay my respects to him.
Deceit and violence are in the nature of nature. He further wrote that some people do not believe in legal and social agreements. Our job is to stop them. I want you to see your role in nation building in your daily actions. DGP wrote that the period of history gave a leading role in nation building. I am sure you will live up to it. You will always protect what is right between right and wrong. Whatever the price has to be paid.
