New Delhi/Ranchi: The Government of Jharkhand is rapidly moving towards developing the state as a leading technology and investment destination of the country through Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital governance and modern technologies. Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings were held with global technology companies and industry representatives as part of the National Stakeholder Consultation (Vision 2050) held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. In these meetings, topics like AI based good governance, digital infrastructure, cloud technology, innovation and preparing capable human resources for the future were discussed in detail.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the Jharkhand government is fully committed to adopting technological innovations and promoting AI-based good governance. He said that the state will create a new model of inclusive and sustainable development by combining its traditional knowledge-wealth and local intelligence with modern technology. According to him, Jharkhand’s identity will not be limited to natural resources only, but innovation and technology based development will also become the new identity of the state.

The meeting was attended by many leading global technology companies including Google, Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, AWS, Salesforce, Techstar, Leah AI and Mamsys. These companies expressed their desire to collaborate to make governance in Jharkhand more effective, transparent and citizen-centric through emerging technologies.

The discussion with Google representatives had a special focus on AI-based good governance, smart healthcare, emergency services, language-based AI solutions and digital skilling. The company proposed to run a three-month AI training and certification program for approximately 3 to 4 lakh K-12 teachers in the state. A suggestion was also made to sign a Statement of Intent (SoI) between the Jharkhand government and Google. AI based ambulance management and developing integrated health platforms were also discussed in the meeting.

Oracle proposed collaboration in training, certification, workforce development and capacity building programs to strengthen the AI, cloud and digital skilling ecosystem of the state. Microsoft suggested developing an AI-driven data intelligence platform that integrates data from all government departments, thereby enabling evidence-based decision making, automation of departmental processes and strengthening data governance. The company also emphasized on accelerating the digitization of government services through low-code platforms.

IBM introduced AI based solutions for mining, healthcare, banking and cyber security sectors. The company offered to provide a free Proof of Concept (PoC) to develop intelligent data analytics, mining monitoring, secure data sharing and AI solutions tailored to the state’s requirements.

During the meetings AWS proposed collaboration on secure cloud infrastructure, AI based data integration, digital governance, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), education and developing centralized decision support dashboards. The company also offered to provide free proof of concept for AI based good governance solutions in the state. There were discussions with other technology partners to increase transparency in government schemes, reduce leakages and make service delivery more effective through AI based analytics, hybrid cloud, cyber security and intelligent data platforms.

In the meeting, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar and senior officials of the state government answered in detail the suggestions and questions of the industry representatives. During this, possibilities of long-term cooperation in the field of investment, digital infrastructure and skill development in Jharkhand were also discussed.

These meetings, held under the National Stakeholder Consultation, revealed that global technology companies are interested in establishing long-term partnerships with Jharkhand. The state government believes that this strategy based on innovation, artificial intelligence, digital governance and skill development will play an important role in establishing Jharkhand as the leading digital and investment hub of the country in the coming years.
