Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Orders Uninterrupted Drinking Water Supply Amid Severe Heatwave. Jharkhand News: Heat wave wreaks havoc in Jharkhand, CM Hemant Soren gave instructions for drinking water system. News Track in Hindi

Ranchi, May 23 (IANS). Amid the severe heat wave in Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday directed district administrations and government officials across the state to ensure uninterrupted drinking water availability to the public. The Chief Minister directed Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, police station officers, circle officers, block development officers, panchayat representatives and all government offices to make adequate arrangements for drinking water in public places and outside government establishments.

The Chief Minister also directed officials to send water tankers to immediately address the problem of water shortage in the affected areas, repair broken hand pumps and make alternative arrangements where necessary. He also said that all Deputy Commissioners will ensure that wherever there is water crisis, immediate water supply through tankers, repair of hand pumps and other alternative arrangements is made. Emphasizing the need for humanitarian and prompt administrative response during the extreme heat, Soren said that in case of any water crisis, Soren Village, colony or locality should not face shortage of drinking water.

He further said that no village, hamlet or locality should suffer due to lack of drinking water – it is our collective responsibility. During this scorching heat, the administration should work with complete sensitivity, promptness and humanitarian approach. Public interest is paramount. Jharkhand has been experiencing severe heat wave for the last few days, with the temperature remaining above 40 degrees Celsius in many districts.
