New Delhi/Ranchi. The Jharkhand government has taken a big step towards giving the state a new identity in the fields of Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital governance and innovation. For this purpose, Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the two-day ‘National Stakeholders Consultation’ organized in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Industry leaders, IT companies, policy makers and technical experts from India and abroad participated in the program and shared their suggestions on Jharkhand’s Vision-2050.
Addressing the program, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that Jharkhand’s identity should no longer be limited to mineral wealth only. He said, “Jharkhand should not be identified only by mines but also by minds. Focus should be on research with resources, innovation with extraction and inclusive development with development.”
The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand has been an important basis for the industrial development of the country and the state can also play an important role in building a knowledge-based economy in the future. He described the coordination of traditional knowledge and modern technology as the key to the development of the state and the country.
The first day of the program saw wide-ranging discussions on Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Governance and future technologies. During this, representatives of many leading technology companies and industry organizations including Microsoft, Google and IBM gave their suggestions to strengthen the digital ecosystem in Jharkhand, increase IT investment and accelerate technology-based development.
On this occasion, concept papers of Jharkhand AI Policy, Investment Promotion Policy, Tourism Policy, Textile Policy, Excess Regulations and PPP Policy were also presented before the stakeholders. The government invited suggestions from industry and experts to make these policies more effective and investor-friendly.
Business-to-Government (B2G) dialogue between the government and industry was also organized during the event. In this, the possibilities of investment and partnership in the field of IT, AI, digital governance and modern technologies in Jharkhand were discussed in detail.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to develop Jharkhand in line with the technologies of the future. He expressed confidence that on the basis of suggestions received from experts and industry, such policies will be prepared which will attract investment and also give impetus to employment generation and inclusive development.
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Deepika Pandey Singh, Health Minister Irfan Ansari, Industries, Labor and Planning Minister Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Tourism, Art-Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sudivya Kumar, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Development Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh and senior officials of the state government and experts from various fields were present in the program. Whereas Tallin Kumar of IBM, Sandeep Arora of Microsoft and Rajesh Ranjan of Google gave a presentation on the possibilities of information technology in Jharkhand.
