Jharkhand News: A wedding ceremony in Jharkhand’s Garhwa district turned into a ruckus when a minor dispute that started during an orchestra performance turned into a violent clash. The fighting escalated so much that all the wedding rituals remained incomplete and the groom returned with the wedding procession without the bride. This incident is being discussed in the entire area.
Controversy started over climbing the stage
This case pertains to Bigha Tola of Bansdih village of Ketar police station area of Garhwa district. Here the marriage of Dadai Paswan’s daughter Khushboo Kumari was fixed with Raju Kumar, a resident of Padayapura in Palamu district. As per the schedule, the procession arrived with much fanfare and the Jayamala ceremony was also completed peacefully.
After this, DJ and orchestra were organized to entertain the guests. During the programme, some youths started trying to climb onto the orchestra stage. Earlier there was an argument regarding this matter, which soon turned into a big controversy.
Fierce fight between wedding guests and villagers
According to eyewitnesses, as the dispute escalated, fighting with sticks and kicks started between the wedding guests and the local people. The atmosphere of the wedding suddenly became tense and the ceremony broke out into chaos. Many people including the groom’s father Dashrath Ram were injured in this clash.
There are reports of some vehicles being damaged during the fighting. The injured were immediately sent to Garhwa Sadar Hospital for treatment, where they were treated.
The marriage broke down, the marriage procession returned without a procession.
After the incident, the tension between the two parties increased so much that further wedding rituals could not take place. It is being told that the groom’s side refused to marry and the marriage procession returned without taking the rounds. As soon as information about the incident was received, Ketar police station reached the spot and started investigating the matter. Police are identifying the people involved in the fight and are preparing for further legal action.
