Manjhi angry on NDA over seat sharing: Despite the countdown for Bihar Assembly elections having started, the seat sharing formula in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has not been finalized yet, and now a major crisis is looming over it! Even after NDA’s important ally Jitan Ram Manjhi’s meeting with BJP National President JP Nadda in New Delhi today, his anger has not ended. According to sources, Manjhi is angry with the seat sharing formula in which his party HAM (HAM) is likely to get less seats.
Manjhi can take a big political step
According to NDA sources, Jitan Ram Manjhi can take some big political step. The leadership of his party HAM has started calling all its leaders to seek their opinion about contesting in the assembly elections under any circumstances. It is being told that if there is no agreement on seat sharing in NDA, then Manjhi can field his candidates on 15 to 20 seats. This step could pose a serious threat to the unity of the NDA. HAM’s National General Secretary Rajesh Pandey conveyed the seriousness of the situation in just a few gestures. He said, “We have expressed our views before the senior BJP leadership, all options are open to us. No friend or enemy is permanent in politics.”
High-level meeting held in Delhi, seat sharing formula leaked
Before the Bihar Assembly elections, an important meeting was held in New Delhi on Saturday regarding seat sharing. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, state unit president Dilip Jaiswal and alliance partners attended this meeting. According to sources of news agency PTI, JDU may contest on about 101-102 seats, while BJP will contest one seat less than JDU. Talks have almost been finalized on seat sharing with LJP(R) i.e. Chirag Paswan, but HAM leader Jitan Ram Manjhi is said to be angry.
BJP’s claim: ‘Everything is fine in NDA, announcement today or tomorrow’
Amidst this political turmoil in NDA, BJP has claimed ‘all is well’. Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal said, “Everything is fine in NDA. The seat sharing of allies will be announced by 11 am today or tomorrow.” Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary also said that all the allied leaders have expressed their opinion and there is no resentment. BJP’s Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were also present in the meeting. However, HAM openly saying that options are open and Manjhi’s displeasure continuing even after meeting Nadda is a clear indication that as united as the NDA alliance looks from outside, the matter is as complicated from inside. If Manjhi goes alone on 15-20 seats, it will directly dent the NDA vote bank and may benefit the Grand Alliance.
