Firecracker Factory Explosion: The district administration has taken action against factory owner Anil Malviya under the National Security Act (NSA) in the case of a massive explosion in the firecracker factory located in Tonkkala village of Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh. Three people were killed in this accident, while more than 15 people were injured. After the incident, the police has arrested Anil Malviya and the factory has been sealed.

Dewas District Collector Rituraj Singh said that this strict action has been taken on the basis of the police report. The report has revealed serious irregularities in factory operations and violations of safety rules. Collector Singh said, “The police report mentions alleged misuse of firecracker manufacturing license and violation of safety standards prescribed under ‘Explosives Rules’. Based on these facts, action has been initiated under the National Security Act (NSA).”

According to police officials, preparations are being made to register cases against a total of four people, including three contractors associated with the factory. Officials are investigating whether the accident occurred due to negligence in handling explosive material or ignoring safety standards. Meanwhile, Ujjain division commissioner Ashish Singh has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the matter to find out the real causes of the blast and identify any lapses in following safety rules.

Ujjain’s Additional Collector Atendra Singh Gurjar and Industrial Health and Safety Officer Namita Tiwari have been appointed as investigating officers for the investigation. An official statement said, “The investigation team has been directed to submit its report within a week. The investigation will review the causes of the blast, adherence to ‘Explosives Rules’ and ‘National Building Code-2016’ and also the licenses issued for operating the factory.”

The administration has also said that the safety standards of other firecracker factories operating in the district will also be reviewed. Deputy Chief Minister and district in-charge minister Jagdish Deora visited the incident site and reviewed the relief and rescue operations. After this he met the injured admitted in Dewas District Hospital and Amaltas Hospital. Jagdish Deora said, “The state government stands strongly with the affected families in this difficult time. All possible assistance and better medical facilities will be provided to the injured.” He also made it clear that strict action will be taken against anyone found responsible for negligence in the investigation.
