The ongoing dispute regarding seat sharing in the Grand Alliance during the Bihar Assembly elections has now come to the fore. In both Vaishali and Lalganj seats, Congress and RJD candidates are in the fray against each other.
Congress’s Sanjeev Kumar filed his nomination from Vaishali seat on November 15, while RJD’s Ajay Kushwaha filed his nomination on November 17. The clash of candidates between the two parties has created confusion among the alliance workers. The workers are not able to understand which candidate they should campaign for.

According to sources, there were long standing differences between the two parties regarding ticket distribution. Although attempts were made to compromise, both parties ultimately decided to field their respective candidates. Congress’s Sanjeev Kumar has clearly said that he will contest the elections and will not make any kind of compromise.
Controversy on Lalganj seat also
Congress and RJD are also face to face in Lalganj seat of Vaishali district. RJD has given ticket to Shivani Shukla, daughter of powerful leader Munna Shukla, while Congress has made Aditya Kumar Raja its candidate. MP Pappu Yadav was also present during his nomination.
Other disputed seats
1. Vaishali Assembly: A direct fight is certain between Congress and RJD, where Sanjeev Kumar and Ajay Kushwaha are in the fray.
2. Lalganj Assembly: There is a contest between Shivani Shukla from RJD and Aditya Kumar Raja from Congress.
3. Bachhwara Assembly (Begusarai): There is a contest between Awadhesh Kumar Rai of Kisan Insan Party and Shiv Prakash Garibdas of Congress.
4. Gaurbauram Assembly (Darbhanga): There is a direct contest between RJD’s Afzal Ali Khan and VIP’s Santosh Sahni.
5. Rosra Assembly (Samastipur): CPI’s Laxman Paswan and Congress’s V.K. There is a collision between Ravi.
Apart from this, in Kahalgaon Assembly, RJD has nominated Rajneesh Yadav and Congress has nominated Praveen Kushwaha, but the nominations have not been done yet.
According to political analysts, the unity of the Grand Alliance has weakened due to lack of coordination in seat distribution and ambitions of regional leaders. If this situation continues, the opposition alliance may have to suffer heavy losses in these areas.
