Ujjain, June 7 (IANS). A huge crowd of devotees participated in the Bhasma Aarti organized in the world famous Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple on the occasion of Saptami of Jyeshtha Adhikama Krishna Paksha in the early hours of Sunday. Thousands of devotees reached the temple since early morning to take part in the divine darshan of Baba Mahakal and the Bhasma Aarti. The temple complex echoed with the slogan of ‘Jai Shri Mahakal’ and the entire atmosphere became devotional.
According to tradition, Lord Mahakal was woken up in Brahma Muhurta on Sunday morning. After this, the priests and priests of the temple worshiped him as per the rituals and did special adornment. Baba Mahakal’s attractive adornment was done with Tripund made of hemp, moon on the head and divine Trinetra. This supernatural appearance mesmerized the devotees.
After Shagar, sacred ashes were offered to Lord Mahakal. During Bhasma Aarti, the devotees present in the temple had darshan of Baba with devotion and attained spiritual experience. It is believed that just by seeing the Bhasma Aarti of Mahakaal, the sufferings of the devotees go away and they get special virtues. This is the reason why a large number of devotees from India and abroad reach Ujjain. Devotees started standing in queues since late night to participate in the Bhasma Aarti. The temple administration had made special arrangements for the convenience and safety of the devotees. Additional staff and security personnel were deployed to maintain the smooth functioning of the darshan.
As soon as the divine adornment of Baba Mahakal was completed, the devotees got ecstatic and had darshan of him. Many devotees prayed with folded hands while many devotees were seen chanting Mahakal. A wonderful confluence of devotion, faith and reverence was seen in the temple premises. On this auspicious occasion of Jyeshtha Adhikamas, the special puja and Bhasma Aarti conducted in the Mahakaleshwar temple filled the devotees with spiritual energy. Devotees felt blessed after seeing the divine form of Baba Mahakal adorned with Tripund, Moon and three eyes. This Sunday’s Bhasma Aarti once again became a unique example of reverence, tradition and eternal faith.
