Bhopal, June 12 (IANS). Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday announced a series of measures aimed at strengthening the state’s policing and investigation infrastructure. These measures include new investigation allowance for police personnel and strengthening the mechanism to deal with cyber crime. Reviewing the Home Department, Chief Minister Yadav said that the government is committed to equipping the police force with modern resources to deal with the emerging challenges.
The Chief Minister said that in the changing times, the police force will be provided with necessary resources to advance the systems and deal with new challenges. He directed police personnel at all levels to work with vigilance and proactivity to maintain law and order across the state.
Officials said the proposed investigation allowance will help officers meet the expenses incurred during criminal investigation, including visiting crime scenes, evidence collection, photography and videography, digital forensic work, and arranging transportation and food for accused persons, witnesses and victims. In view of the growing threat of cyber crime and misuse of artificial intelligence (AI), the Chief Minister approved the appointment of IT consultants and cyber experts to strengthen the state cyber cell.
The meeting also approved ‘Safeguard MP’, an AI-based platform aimed at improving the safety of elderly citizens, women and other vulnerable groups. Preparations for Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain were also reviewed. Yadav stressed the need for long-term planning so that the infrastructure developed for the religious gathering continues to serve the city even after the event.
Chief Minister Yadav said that the control room and other arrangements for Simhastha should be established in such a way that their permanent importance and impact can be ensured. Ujjain has many holy places including Baba Mahakal Temple; Therefore, all systems should be developed as permanent infrastructure.
Proposals for setting up Madhya Pradesh Police Selection and Recruitment Board, deployment of district level crime scene mobile units and providing special allowances for VVIP duty were also reviewed in the meeting. Plans to strengthen ATS, STF and Hawk Force through advanced training facilities were also discussed.
