Dularchand Yadav Mokama case update: Just before the first phase of voting for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, the political violence in Mokama Tall has changed the future of a family. After the murder of Baahubali Dularchand Yadav, his grandson Neeraj Yadav has announced to give up his dream of studying medicine and take over his grandfather’s ’empire’. Dularchand Yadav lost his life in this bloody clash that took place on October 30, after which the election atmosphere on Mokama seat has completely changed. This emotional decision of Neeraj Yadav has given a new direction not only to his family but to the politics of the entire Mokama. This story narrates the bloody struggle of Bihar politics and the broken dreams of a youth.
Left MBBS preparation: ‘Now we will look after the case and family’
Neeraj Yadav, whose father is in government service, is now speaking to the media on behalf of the family. He told with great sadness that now he will not be able to fulfill his dream of becoming a doctor. Talking to the media, Neeraj said, “We were preparing for MBBS. Now it won’t be possible. Now whatever it is, it will be done here only. Now there will be a case, a lawsuit will be filed. It will tax all of us. It will put us all inside in a few days. From where now? Will it be possible now? Now nothing will be possible, right?”
Neeraj clarified that he himself will not step into politics, but whatever his grandfather Dularchand Yadav has ‘created and left behind’, he will now look at it. He said that his grandfather’s dream was to become a doctor and his younger brother to become a police officer (IPS). He said firmly, “Dada’s dream was to become a doctor. He wanted to make his brother an IPS. All dreams have been dashed. We will make him our brother. We will not be able to become one. Now we will have to look after Dada’s empire. We will have to look after our family.” His statement not only reflects his personal loss but also highlights the deep familial consequences of election violence in Bihar.
From clash to death: What happened in Mokama?
Dularchand Yadav was killed in a clash in Mokama Tall area on October 30 after a convoy of supporters of Janata Dal United (JDU) and Jan Suraj Party (JSP) came face to face. When supporters of candidates from both parties were passing through the same road, tension flared up and it soon turned into violence.
In the post-mortem report, a bullet wound was found in the leg of Dularchand Yadav, while the main cause of death was said to be internal injury. The family members have alleged that he was not only shot, but a vehicle was run over him after he fell. After this incident, Dularchand’s family members had filed an FIR naming JDU candidate and former MLA Anant Singh, who was immediately arrested and sent to jail. Apart from this, Bihar Police has also said that it is preparing to arrest Jan Suraj’s candidate Piyush Priyadarshi.
Political mathematics of Mokama seat
After this violent incident on Mokama seat, the contest has become even more triangular. JDU candidate Anant Singh, against whom Dularchand Yadav’s family has leveled allegations, has been arrested and sent to jail. At the same time, the threat of arrest is also hanging on Piyush Priyadarshi of Jan Suraj. Mainly Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Veena Devi, who is a former MP from Munger and wife of another strong leader from Mokama, former MP Surajbhan Singh, is also contesting on this seat. After this political violence and arrest, a mixture of muscle power and emotional appeal is being seen on this seat, where now the decision of Dularchand’s grandson Neeraj Yadav will also matter politically.
