NEET Re Exam: The administration in Jharkhand has completed extensive preparations for the re-examination of NEET-UG 2026. A total of 67 examination centers have been set up in 21 cities of the state. Of these, maximum 21 centers have been established in Ranchi. Strict security arrangements have been made at all the centers to make the examination fair and safe. On Saturday, a day before the examination, a mock drill was organized by the district administration and police department, so that the security arrangements and operational preparedness could be assessed. Along with this, intensive investigation campaign was also conducted in various areas.

Exam Timings and Entry Instructions

The re-examination will be conducted on Sunday in a single shift. The exam will start at 2 pm and candidates will also be given additional time of 15 minutes. Candidates have been advised to reach the examination center by 11 am. After the start of the admission process in the centres, entry will be allowed only till 1:30 pm. After this the gates of the center will be closed.

All candidates will be thoroughly screened before admission. Therefore it will be necessary to reach the center before time. Candidates have been instructed to come wearing light and simple clothes. Wearing any kind of electronic device, smart watch, mobile phone or jewelery will not be allowed to enter the examination centre.

Prohibitory orders will remain in place around examination centers

Prohibitory orders will remain in force within a radius of 200 meters of all the centers during the examination. There will be a ban on gathering of five or more people in this area. Since Sunday is also International Yoga Day, the administration has prepared a special plan to maintain the traffic system smoothly. Adequate number of traffic policemen will be deployed around major routes and examination centres.

Re-examination will be held under strict surveillance across the country.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has informed that the examination will be conducted under the “Zero Error” and “Zero Trust” policy across the country. On Saturday, security and technical arrangements were checked through mock drills at examination centers across the country. The responsibility of safe transportation and monitoring of confidential examination material has been entrusted to the district administration, police and security agencies.

Exam being held again after paper leak controversy

It is noteworthy that the original examination of NEET-UG 2026 was held on May 3, but it was canceled after allegations of paper leak. The re-examination is now being conducted after about seven weeks. About 22.79 lakh students will appear for the examination at more than 5,000 examination centers in 551 cities of the country and 14 cities abroad.

NTA has appealed to the candidates to rely only on official information. The agency has also started a WhatsApp channel to share information.

Special instructions to medical colleges

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed medical colleges across the country not to give leave to students on Sunday. The Commission believes that in the past some students were found involved in such activities which were likely to affect the examination process. Therefore, this time extra caution is being taken.
