Bihar News: In Darbhanga district of Bihar, on Friday, CM Nitish Kumar’s public meeting did not become a political event, but the incident of the thieves here brought the entire gathering into the headlines. In this activist conference held in Raghopur village, some high -ups targeted the jewelry of the women present around the stage.
During and later during the meeting, dozens of women realized the theft of their jewelery. Many women started crying bitterly after seeing a gold chain and mangalsutra missing from their neck. The seriousness of the incident can be understood from the fact that about 12 women have been stolen.
Questions raised on security system
The incident raised questions about security arrangements among the local people. The aggrieved women said that when hundreds of policemen are deployed in the Chief Minister’s meeting, how can such a big theft be done. It is natural to question the safety of common people. The women felt the lack of administration after wandering for hours in search of lost jewelery.
Anger among women reached its peak after the incident. They blocked the main road, causing the vehicles of Darbhanga District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police also got stuck in the jam. After heavy uproar and protests, the administration assured investigation and action. After this, the road jam was removed.
The victims of the victims
Women affected by the incident kept telling about the price and emotional significance of their jewelery. Poonam Devi said that her chain worth about 1 lakh rupees was stolen. The price of Gauri Devi’s jewelery was said to be 40 thousand rupees, while the price of gold jewelery of Sunita Devi is 50 thousand rupees. Similarly, Gayatri Devi, Ramkumari Devi and Radha Kumari also informed about the disappearance of their jewelery.
Women say that not only money was damaged, but this incident has also hurt their feelings and self -esteem. Many women were seen crying bitterly and demanded immediate action from the administration.
Administration response
After the incident, the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police reached the spot and controlled the situation. He assured that the incident would be investigated thoroughly and strict action would be taken by catching the culprits. At the same time, the local police also said that the investigation of the case has been started and efforts are on to identify the suspects.
However, this incident made it clear that there are also flaws in security arrangements in large public meetings. People believe that if the Chief Minister’s meeting can be stolen, the security situation in common roads and public places can be even more challenging.
